I don't think the USA would beat Spain tomorrow, how you guys feel about Duncan leading a team who will be eliminated for the firts time since NBA players were allowed to compete in the Olympics?
Who should be blamed for this failure, the players who rejected the invitation to join Team USA or the players who went to Athens and couldn't defend the gold medal?

Olympics as sham argument aside, selection committee and pussy players who were afraid.
IMO Duncan should have been enough to win the gold, The Spurs are Duncan + role players and still manage to win.
Team USA is Duncan + role players and somehow still manage to lose.
Don't feel bad for Duncan's failure to lead Team USA to the gold medal, look at it as a positive for Spurs fans, you will have Duncan back early to rest his ailing knee and ready for the NBA season.

Had Shaq, KG, and J O'Neal not chickened out would this even be a concern?

In the end it doesn't matter because I actually enjoy watching a compe ive game over one where a blowout is guaranteed.

In either case, if Team USA loses... Duncan would only be guilty by association... (check out his FG percentage for the games...it's not his fault)... I don't know why his teammates have had such a hard time giving him decent entry passes. (BTW that's one of the reasons we brought Horry and Ginobili back, cuz the art of the entry pass is an ill-taught fundamental lacking in todays younger players).

Hey atleast id have something good to look at when i decide to stay up all night to watch the game.
