ok,thanks
I get the same message you just got. It's because the Search is disabled even if the message is different.
We'll switch the Search on and off often in the next days, so if it doesn't work or the link is missing - it's us.
The database for this forum is huge, optimizing it is one problem, improving the actual code that do the search (it's really bad right now) is the second problem. We're working on both.
No problems other than I really miss the search function like everyone else (![]()
), but obviously ya'll are working on it, so I'll STFU. And I can't get an avatar to load for some weird reason when it's hosted on the web, but uploading right from my PC works fine....so no big deal. It's probably just user error...
... but I just wanted to say....
ROFLMAO @ The Mav Trolls Invading The Internets!![]()

They are optimizing some things like the search function, etc on a mock version on the forum. When all the bugs are worked out, they'll transfer those optimizations over here.
I know there's still been some moments of lagging on and off (maybe caused by search engine bots) but over the next week or so, we'll figure everything out.
Thanks for everyone's patience.
I believe we have found the single biggest problem with the search function. If all further testing goes well, we'll apply the fix and reenable the search function sometime late night/early morning CDT time when the traffic on the forum is low.
There will be probably 60 to 90 seconds of downtime as well, I apologize for that.
@SpursWoman: thanks for the report, we'll look into it.
Thanks muki, (WTF is muki)
(it's one of my ancient nicknames - actually it is derived from my last name)
Agreed! Too funny!
What server do you use here and how much do you pay if you can disclose that?
OK The Search is now switched back on!
Use it wisely or I'll come after you!!!!
Disclaimer: The administrator reserves the right to switch it back off at the first sign that he was wrong!![]()
Besides the blazing fast search functionthe uploading of avatars from the web is fixed now.
@SpursWoman: please try it again and let me know if it still doesn't work for you.
It works fine now ... by fixed, do you mean it wasn't just me?![]()
![]()
Is it me, or is there a troll floating around the banner?
Nope, it wasn't just you. My bad.![]()
I can't search for all of my posts like I used to be able to do. Is this intentional?
Can you be more precise about which functions you are trying to use?
ie I just clicked on your name and then on "find more post by TlongII" and it worked.
It works for me now too. I must have done something wrong yesterday.
No Search for you!!! [/search nazi]

I just dont see whats so hard to fix to make spurstalk run correctly
kori has told us dozens of time how much money they spend on it, which makes it ty yet impressive at the same time
I still think we should just do away with all the videos, they slow down everything for me
You have exactly two options here:
1. Make it run correctly
2. STFU
Hmm, I think I just figured out the difference between Muki and mookie.
has anyone actually went to one server to another?
I have. It is a pain in the but. Things are never the same. Have to setup everything. make sure permissions are set right. Make sure things work with the new os and updates. Tranfer everything. Setup forum software transfer huge database.
Test then run with it live. It is not easy and just because you have a server company helping you they may charge you after so much time on their end to get it to work.
What's still running improperly for you? For a few days everything has been running fine without any lag.
Are you talking about videos in signatures? Are you on dialup?
Stop trying to use dial-up through your cell phone. The speed will increase.
