I already forgot about it.
spurs eliminated...but after 3 years or 5 years...will any one remember's Barry's heroic act in game 2 against the Kings in first round?...
Will it be included in Spurs Top Five All-Time Play-offs big shot or it will just faded in the memory of spurs fans?...
Tell me...
wow i would have never thought about that shot again if i hadn't seen this thread
why would spurs fans care about a great shot like that if it didnt result in a championship? kings fans will sure as remember it though.
History will record that Brent Barry enabled the Spurs to acquire J.R. Smith, who went on to win 5 NBA MVP awards and 6 scoring les.
The Whaty's What?
I hate to admit it but I hadn't thought of it.
I still remember it. I think they still show the commercial occasionally.
I was in the gym the other day just shooting around with some buddies and a friend of mine took a goofy halfcourt shot that bounced in almost the same way as Barry's did. Before that and before this thread, I hadn't thought of it.
It's called higher standards
When you don't win all that's remembered is the L.
With the way the spurs lost, the shot might as well be in the gutter.
Most of the people have already forgotten it, and have long since shuffled it under the mat of "reasons to trade Barry"
well your higher standards doesnt matter because your fishing with us now. and until your bench gets younger and more athletic dallas will keep beating you.
Yes, because they really kicked the out of us this year.
The Spurs didn't lose due to lack of athleticism. Only a Kings fan would believe that.
I was actually talking to someone about that shot this evening..
No. Just like no one will remember Kobe's Dunk. It'll be on the highlights of the 2006 postseason, and the Spurs 2005-06 season review, but beyond that - it is not transcendant.
i will definitely remember it because i was at that game with my dad with T-Parks tickets! (thanks again TPark)
What bounce?
i saw it, it was the first playoff game i have ever seen. i won't be forgetting it anytime soon.
me too
Not exactly true.
-Larry Johnson's 4-pointer
-Michael's shot against the Cavs
and, of course,
-0.4*
So when you say "Barry's shot" people will know what you're talking about. But it won't be remembered as an all-time great shot.
Funny thing about the Spurs-Mavs series. As great a series as it was, not exactly very many memorable shots. Just calls and missed opportunites on both sides.
