Anyone hear anything about a guy named R Lee & a bookie bust?
No. What did you hear exactly?
There was a search warrant executed @ a residence of a "Richard Lee" & SAPD seizing property & vehicles bought with illegal gambling proceeds.
KMOL, Natalia Zea Rodriguez was the reporter on the scene.
Yup, that's him...his lawyer just confirmed it per Natalia the Beautiful.
The guy has a sweet pad & of course his rides were nice as well.
Stuff being loaded on a trailer in the background.
Damn I missed it. I'm going to have to replay the news.
Illegal Gambling Warrant Executed at Home of S.A. Poker Champion

Vice officers executed a warrant to break-up an alleged illegal gambling operation at a Shavano Park home owned by a San Antonio poker champion.
Officers were inside the house taking an inventory Tuesday night. Police said they have a warrant to seize everything, including the owner's cars.
Police would not confirm who owned the home.
However, Bexar County Appraisal District records show the home is owned by a Richard Lee.
A man identifying himself as Lee's lawyer confirmed the home's owner is the same Richard Lee who placed 6th at the World Series of Poker and won nearly $3 million a few weeks ago.
No one has been arrested.
At least he can afford a good lawyer now.
Sure, if they haven't frozen his assets.
I don't know this guy's history and how he got to the WSOP, so this might be a moot point, but if the authorities can prove he got his WSOP buy-in from any illegaly earned monies, I think they can take that away, too?
Dude must've been BIG TIME or have some heavy hitters.
Used to hear stories about a guys with names like, "The Shrimper" & "IVAN The Spaniard" & even an old lady on the WestSide store. I don't think any of them had a pad like I saw on the news 2nite.
His dad was a State Rep and a big poker player back in the day. Supposedly there was a family business (importing silver IIRC) where he made a fortune and he didn't really need the WSOP winnings. But a lot of people around town were fully aware that he was a bookie.
I'm not sure if the legit business was a front, or if he actually had a legit business plus the bookie business.
It will be interesting to see if politicians get in trouble in all this.County Judge Nelson Wolff said he wasn't surprised to hear of such noble intentions. Wolff and Lee's father — who was one of the first Asian Americans to become successful in Texas politics — were friends from the 1960s until Thomas Lee died from complications of diabetes about eight years ago.
Now, Wolff and Richard Lee play in the same home poker game, and Wolff said Lee beat him out of a big pot last month that would have sent the judge to Las Vegas for the World Series instead.
That's funny.
Kinda ed up too.
If the $$ was won fair & square let'em keep it, bookie or not.
Dude was a big time bookie. It was all over the forums when he was at the final table. Dumb .
I guess if a monkey says he was, then he was.
Heh, When all the gamblers in San Antonio say they're placing bets with this guy, I tend to believe them.
All gamblers in SA?
Hmmmmm...................
A damn good deal of them. Obviously not all, but this guy being a bookie was no secret.
What exactly are you trying to get at other than being difficult?
Simmer down mijo, simmer down.
Dio's just upset that he's been using an out of state bookie when this guy was right around the corner.
Man, I'm sure Dio can find a bookie here in SA. But Sportsbook.com doesn't come looking for you if you don't pay up.
The online option is very cool, many options.
Someone had to dime this dude out.
