Italy is really controlling every part of the game right now. The US on offense looks exactly the way they did in Athens and its pretty sick.
That being said, every bounce has also gone Italy's way. I don't expect that to continue.
I thought we responded well to the initial physical nature of Italy's play, but then when Howard went down, they showed huge mental weakness.
Chris Paul needs to play much more in order to stop Italy's penetration, and hopefully Howard can be out there more as well because Brand has been useless so far.
If refs would followed the rules by the book yesterday, US team would be called for travelling about 10 times. And I won't even start on foul calling.
But don't get me wrong, US team was much better and they didn't need this kind of help.
When refs start calling this in important games (and they will), US team will have a hard time adjustig to it. Mark my words.
