Manny, we had a game last night with 10 of us. The usual $1-$2 blinds, $50 buy in with rebuys after you go broke.
My biggest hand was with KJ.
A Jh Jx 8h flopped. I bet $2, Brad to my left raised it to $6, and 3 people called. The turn was a Kh. I checked, Brad to my left bet $10, and 3 called including myself. The river was Qs. I checked, Brad bet 20, and Steve raised it to 40, I called and Brad called. Brad had J 10(trips), Steve had Ah, 9h for a flush and I had the Boat. That was awesome.
I won $345.00 for the night.
Manny there is a poker tournament that weekend in San Antonio with Tom Mcevoy. I will be down from Austin to play in it. You should go its a free tournament but you get $5 for any one you take out and $100 if you take out Mcevoy or some other pro I've never heard of. Top 3 places pay as well 3rd gets $150 2nd gets $250 and 1st gets $500. You can either play Friday the 15 at 7 or Saturday the 16th at 6. Top 9 from each day make it to final tables on Sunday at 3:00 which might be pushing it for your home tournament but I bet you could still make it home by 7:00 if your lucky enough to make it to finals. This is a public tournament that is FREE to play and win.
About 50 people each session so over a 100. I just checked to make sure people can still register so there must still be room. I am not involved in any way with the tournament but I have attended the previous 2 they had which did not have any pro players in it. Supposedly you get $20 dollars for anyone that you get to register in it as well which I will believe it when I see it. I just though I would invite some people on here thought it sounds kind of fun. Oh and it will be recorded for televsion they are trying to get create a pilot to air on tv. The tournament itself is free but if you would like and you have money to blow you can spend $200-500 to practice and have lunch with Mcevoy as well as recieve other signed autograph junk. Does not seem worth it to me but its there. I am sure not going to pay that much but if your intrested its there. If you are intrested just reply and I will send you link it will give you all the details and if you know other people who may be intrested after you register send them link from were you registered so you can recieve 20 dollars if they actually do that. I am still skeptical about it though.
