u must be a crackhead or blind, or even both
Collins should be sent to the WNBA and learn how to play
My son was just watching it...

You are in complete denial, homer.his slap didnt make it any worse.
, "slap"
I dunno ; bit it ended Rudy T's career as a player ; that was a violent punch
Maybe it's a good thing Melo didn't his Collins hard
You're right, they did.
Not hate. Just Melo is a dumbass with too much thug in him. Wade and LeBron realize they are in a billion dollar business. Melo thinks he's hangin in the hood. He'll of a guy to build your team and business around.
in a normal fight yes but in the nba brawl Melo may have realised then that he shouldnt have gone in hot headed coz he would get suspended. So he made sure he didnt make it worse
Dont pretend like u wouldnt react first and think later, u would be brain dead if u didnt
NBATV refused to acknowledge it at all. I found that funny. There were talking about the game like it was a regular game.
If I remember correctly, Kermit Washington wasn't suspended any particular amount of games, but was out for the rest of the season.
By not letting Collins catch him and kill him. Yes, that would have been worse. So he made sure he didnt make it worse
I think that's accurate. Another way to view it is if Robinson doesn't get involved, the end result is just a lot of jawing between Smith and Collins.
They showed some of the postgame press conferences, but I never did see the actual brawl on NBATV (I was flipping channels though).
Melo doesnt get, and never has gotten, things handed to him like those two prima donnas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermit_WashingtonWashington, then playing with the Los Angeles Lakers, was suspended for two months, missing 26 games.
Yeah, but then you might not even HAVE suspensions. Robinson's actions by themselves would have warranted a suspension. Smith's action escalated it further.
I think players should be suspended for what they do, not for what other players do or how fights escalate. Case in point, I thought Ben Wallace got screwed last year when he was suspended 6 games for a flagrant foul just because Jackson/Artest/O'Neil went bat .
Things got pretty ugly pretty quick
ok, just saw it again, and changed my mind. Smith and Robinson deserve equal punishment... It looks like they both went into the crowd together, not a Smith tackle like I previously thought.
no worse than that fight between those guys. There were punches and those two went into the crowd on the sideline"1/13/06
The NBA suspended Keyon Dooling (Orl) for 5 games and Ray Allen (Sea) for
3 games for their fight in Wednesday's Orl-Sea game. Dooling got the
longer suspension as he initiated the fight and also attempted to confront
Allen in the hallway after leaving the court (security was able to keep
Dooling from reaching Allen, though words were exchanged)."
I don't understand your point. Smith is supposed to just let Robinson shove him mutliple times? Yeah, it's nice if he would have been cool enough to just walk away, but if you do something that can be expected to generate some sort of retaliation (e.g., commit a flagrant foul), then you bear some of the responsibility for that retaliation.
And I completely disagree. Wallace bears some culpability. Before the cup was thrown, he was by far the most out-of-control person in the building.I think players should be suspended for what they do, not for what other players do or how fights escalate. Case in point, I thought Ben Wallace got screwed last year when he was suspended 6 games for a flagrant foul just because Jackson/Artest/O'Neil went bat .
Melo ran like a chicken because he didn't want to be suspened? Dumbass, he was suspened the moment he punched Collins.
Heh saw the footage, Melo is a loser.
What a weak-minded thing to do. It was already calming down, and could have been the standard procedure after a flagrant foul, but he tries to get in a punch as if he was still 12 years old in the head on the court of a schoolyard.
he wasn't even involved! or defending his mate'.

After last years Indy-Detroit brawl.....
Stern had every player sign off on what the consequences would be of any and all involvement in future brawls, right?
