runners up from the Finals? sure there's the Knicks (99), the Jazz (98), the Jazz (97), the Sonics (96), the Magic (95), the Knicks (94), the Suns (93), the Blazers (92), the Lakers (91), the Lakers (90). That's off the top of my head so maybe there's 1 or 2 wrong but I doubt it.

EDIT: yeah I ed one up...the Blazers lost in the Finals in 90. The Lakers lost the year before to the Pistons.

I guess Shank was right...you did miss what was said. Its not that we Spurs fans shouldn't be proud of the teams history because we should...the problem is when the three rings talk is used as a comeback after the Spurs lose a game in the current season.

For Example:

"haha, Spurs lost tonight"
"yeah but we have three rings"

Doesn't change anything...the Spurs still lost....losing sucks but it happens.

Having three les in the franchise's history is awesome but to say"yeah but we (when in actuality not you but the team) have three rings" is stupid. Having three les to their credit doesn't take away a loss today.

Football is and will always be king in Texas. There are quite a bit of Texans fans but most of us just grew up watching and rooting for the Cowboys. Even though there have been two teams in the state for the better part of almost 50 years.....The Cowboys have always been more popular. Also...they are not a direct threat or rival to the Spurs which the Mavs are. Plus its not a city thing...its a team thing. Something, sadly, Mark Cuban and some Mavs fans (not all, not the smart ones) are too stupid to figure out.
