Yea, maybe SJax, but I never really saw Devin throw down any alley oops
Draft Express has Andre Iguadola as a best case and Qyntel Woods as a worst case. It seems unlikely he puts it together and snags Iguadola numbers, but Qyntel's career was mostly derailed because of off-court issues...he had the talent. Presumably White has a good head on his shoulders, and though he needs to stay assertive and work especially on using his god-given athleticism, he is at least worth keeping through next year.
Ohmigawd! We have a backup quarterback controversy....er...sorry, scratch that.
Instead we have a 'young phenom--White' controversy. The 'young phenom' controversy used to arise in training camp every year--until the cut.
This 'young phenom--White' argument seems to have the legs to outlast the 'young phenom--Butler' from last fall. Remember how everyone thought he'd come in and start? Don't hear much about Butler anymore.

Nice dude, thats some funny
"James White, at the age of 7, could see all of Nellie ball's limitations."
Damn dude, it almost needs its own thread
9 points in first outing. Not bad giving him a 9PPG average - it has to go down - from www.nba.com

His assists per 48 minutes sucks. What a ball hog.
10:14 -- White gets the ball at the top of key, crosses the out of Matt Barnes, gets to the rack and draws the foul. He makes both free throws while reciting the preamble to the Cons ution in Aramaic.
12:00 -- Oberto finds Barry down low for an easy 10-footer. On the way back down court Fabricio apologizes for not getting Flight the ball. James gives him a reassuring nod, his compassion sending a single tear down the Argentine's face.
9:09 -- Oberto misses a shot while James White reminds a court side patron that she needs to pick up her dry cleaning tomorrow. The woman turns to her friend and says "Oh my God, I totally would have forgotten to pick up my dry cleaning if it wasn't for that strapping, handsome young man."
So funny
Well if Beno could somehow manage to hit the backboard from 5 ft. White's assist numbers would be considerably better
Devin Brown was much more athletic than SJax. But I don't remember either one of them catching alleyoops very often.
I dont think the Spur players are used to throwing alley oops
Oh, Parker and Barry would love to throw alley oops all day, but Pop would blow up if that happened. Parker attempted 3 or 4 in the all star game to get his frustrations out as it is.
Flight is our fourth leading scorer. s yeah!
Doesn't anyone remember the awesome alley-oop throwdown by Devin Brown from Barry that's in the 05 dvd?
That was an awesome Devin throwdown.
I remember SJax being the first guy in the NBA to throw a dunk down on Yao
And he sucked at it in the A-S game (at least last year, I didn't see much of this year's). Parker never has been very good at it, probably in large part because he doesn't get much chance to do it.
I suspect that Barry and maybe Horry and Manu would be the best at doing them.
Manu threw a decent one to Elson the other day. I think the Spurs have the personnel to do it finally, but Pop probably considers it too risky of an offensive tactic. I'm sure it leads to alot of turnovers. Denver, pre-Iverson, had a pretty good feel with lob passes though, so I guess it could be taught/perfected...
yes sir, watching Parker throw an alley oop is a lot like watching TD shoot a free throw, you never know what the is going to happen. I've seen Barry launch a few that were bullets that bounced square off the backboard as well. Quite a funny sight.
That's because Andre Miller is probably the best lob passer in the league. You notice that Philly does it a lot more with Igoudala now.
Other than Elson (and White I suppose), I can't think of too many Spurs that would be good targets on the back end of the lob. Manu, Brent, TD and that's requiring an almost perfect pass.
Thats why I said they werent used to throwing them. TD cant jump, and niether can Brent really. White seems the only alternative for the lob, maybe Manu, if Manu could throw one to himself
