If you think Wilkerson could've hit Papelbon's stuff, then your smokin somethin.
you suck!
had to get it off my chest. atleast we are improving we won a series. we sit at 2-4, with the D-Rays coming in to town
If you think Wilkerson could've hit Papelbon's stuff, then your smokin somethin.
0-4, 3 K's. he couldnt hit Samantha Papelbon's stuff
and this just isnt a rare one night deal. i think he struck out close to 150 times last year
he struck out 116 times, 2nd most on team, but in only 328 at bats!!
Texeira had 128 K's but in 650+ at bats
Youd be hard pressed to name an available outfielder better.
BTW, wtf ever happened to Lance Nyx?
Wilkerson is frustrating as , but last night, NOBODY was getting past Papelbon, he had them all fooled. Since he was injured all last year, I am willing to give him some wiggle room this year and see if he will get into that once-promising groove he was in.
Laynce Nix was a part of the trade to Milwaukee that brought us Nelson Cruz and Carlos Lee. He never got his together even though he was given every chance in the world to do so. I was sad that he left but it was time to move on. Last I checked, he was with the Brewers' AAA farm club.
Kenny Lofton is just a stop-gap until this offseason, when plenty of CFs are on the market and way better than him or GMJ would have been. Let's see who the Rangers can coax to Arlington.
a rolling smilie is the answer?
Once again, name the available outfielders available, and then think about if they are really better.
38 year old Bernie Williams >>>> Brad Wilkerson
I would take Hollandsworth and retired Eric Young over Wilkerson
if you look at Wilkerson's good games in Montreal and Washington its easy to assume that he's had some good games in Texas as well and that we are overreacting to the situation.
but we arent. he really has brought nothing to this team. i dont know any outfielders available right now because the season just started. name some available outfielders if you know any and i'll tell you who i think is better
I agree Wilkerson has been a disappointment, but he came through last night right after you posted this. Keep ripping him and we'll see if you can't reverse-jinx him into any kind of production with the bat this year.
Wilkerson is healthy this year, and look at what he did last night.
3 hits?
Yeah, any old stiff outfielder is gonna come in off the street and do that.
bump for Wilkerson's home run today
Wilkerson is outperforming Teixeira and Blalock combined....that's ing sad...for all the ing Teixeira did about Buck last season, you'd figure he'd be the first guy to have a breakout this year...
Blalock is a huge dissapointment. He had that one good year, now hes just getting worse.
Teixeria will be alright.
Blalock is having a decent year so far, besides his error today. Tex has been our worst batter so far.
I dunno if I'd call 1 RBI in 11 games a decent year, but there's no doubt that Tex is ing disappointing as right now. I have alot of faith that Tex will pick it up, but I'm just about ready to proclaim Blalock a failure.
wilkerson homers last night. sammy gets second homer in 2 games.
i think brad got hurt too.
bump
Im wondering if "bump" still thinks hes goddamn wilkerson
Let the guy get healthy and WOW what a shocker, he goes back to his regular self.
hahaha, I forgot all about this thread. I took the high road, giving him time to get into a groove and that's exactly what he has been doing. It's not just tonight, he has quietly begun to put together a good run over the last several weeks. Is it playing 1B, or is it just that he is finally healthy and has had enough AB's to get the rust out?
He played center in Washington and was hitting like this, but it doesnt hurt to play a less stress on your body like first base.
Yeah I knew the type of player they were getting in return for Soriano, even though they still didn't get enough, Wilkerson is better than the baseball experts here though he was, and me and you were the only sane ones to recognize that.
The real question is what happens to Brad when Tex and Kinsler come back.
If Tex gets traded, then I think that Brad will likely stay at 1B. If not, he will definitely be in the lineup everyday, at least until he goes cold again. But call me optimistic but I think maybe he has turned a corner. I know he has been awesome the last week but as I pointed out earlier, he was quietly getting progressively better. If he can stay healthy, I think he may just become the player the Rangers thought they were getting in the trade.
