Uh, TPark -- if you noticed, we used the pick we traded for last year. We made two picks in a draft--and pretty much guaranteed another higher second rounder next summer. What more should anyone expect
2 of the three picks where stash and worry about in 20 year euros.

The other is used on a small forward that doesn't play defense and has serious at ude problems.

    What more?

How about drafting a guy that will actually play on the team?

Its amazing how Cleveland, and all these other franchises can draft guys like Boozera nd what not but the Spurs can't.

This pick was 58..two picks from being a free agent. If that raptors pick turns out to be a low 30's pick Spurs could look like geniuses AGAIN.

    I haven't changed any topic.

you're the one with the name calling.

I haven't addressed you, nor do i give a crap about your opinion.

I've given mine, and thats it.

Keep up with the name calling, it just shows your maturity level.
    Answer the ing question, jackass..

Do you think that Mr. #58 would have broken the 7/8 man rotation of the San Antonio Spurs. Question.

Are you serious? We have two of the biggest draft steals in the past 6/7 years. Are you just pissy or are you trying to make a legit argument?

Probably because you know that you don't have an immediate need and that there is a possiblity of there being someone to fill a need in a future draft. Besides, the possibility of injuries taking out the Raptors giving the Spurs a much better 2nd rounder for this one pick is also there. If the Raptors tank next year and the Spurs get a 35th for a 58th, will you be ing then?
They don't have an immediate need for a point guard and a forward?

No need for a big man thats worth a ?

Whos to say when they get the guy in the second round, that it wont be another euro, and he won't be stashed in europe until 2015?

Its the same over and over and over.

I would say they draft Boozers less often than we draft Manus, Giriceks and Scolas.

You are expecting far too much from the very end of the second round when this team has already done far more than most teams ever could from that position.

Who in this draft available to the Spurs would have been able to play right away? Who would of even been worth tying up a roster spot on a loaded team?

The other two guys will be on the Spurs, so what is your ing problem? Sand in the vagina again?

Uh, did you forget that Ginobili was drafted at #57 and Parker at #28? They don't ing grow on trees dude.

I don't see why you're getting your panties in a bunch over Tiago Splitter. It was a good pick. He'll be here in 2009. If we drafted Rudy Fernandez instead, you wouldn't be complaining.

    I'll say it again.

IM NOT TALKING EXCLUSIVELY ABOUT THE 58TH PICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE TWENTY EIGHTH WAS ANOTHER STASH IN EURO PICK!

Don't draft in 03? Oh yeah, only missed out on Josh Howard.

Don't keep Barbosa. Don't draft Michael redd.

    Officially traded now ..

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they selected Tiago Splitter with the 28th overall pick and Marcus Williams with the 33rd overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. In addition, San Antonio traded the draft rights of Giorgos Printezis to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for the Raptors second round pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.

Splitter, a 6-11 forward from Brazil, has spent the past four seasons playing for Tau Ceramica in the Spanish ACB league. Last season he played in 28 games, averaging 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game. In Euroleague action, he appeared in 20 games posting averages of 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per contest. For his career, Splitter has played in 96 games in the Spanish ACB league, averaging 9.2 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting .600 (325-542) from the field. Over the last four seasons he has also played in 79 Euroleague games, averaging 8.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest. Splitter has been a member of the Brazilian National Team since 2002 and played in the 2002 and 2006 World Championships.

The Spurs used the 33rd overall pick they obtained from the Milwaukee Bucks in a 2006 draft night deal to select Williams out of the University of Arizona. Last season he earned First Team All-Pac-10 honors as a sop re. He ranked fourth in the Pac-10 in scoring (16.6 ppg) and eighth in rebounding (6.7 rpg), while registering four double-doubles. As a freshman, the 6-7 forward was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman team, averaging 13.0 points and 4.7 rebounds. During his two years with the Wildcats, Williams averaged 14.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting .475 (355-748) from the field. Williams participated in the 2005 Global Games as a member of Team USA, averaging 18.8 points and 7.3 rebounds in six games.

They don't have an immediate need for a PG that would be worth the roster slot. They will more than likely address that in FA, but I don't see anyone available in the draft that would have been productive to the Spurs in 2008.

They got a center and a forward with 28 and 33. Will they pan out? I trust the people that worked them out more than anyone on here. We'll see.
