Even at #28 who do you feel would have stepped in on day 1 at backup PG or backup SF? And where are the roster slots to make it all happen?

They don't have an immediate need for a PG that would be worth the roster slot. They will more than likely address that in FA, but I don't see anyone available in the draft that would have been productive to the Spurs in 2008.
They got a center and a forward with 28 and 33. Will they pan out? I trust the people that worked them out more than anyone on here. We'll see.

Damn, you have some seriously high expectations if you expect the FO to bat .1000 on every draft day. This isn't easy, you never know what you're going to get.
They've done well enough to put together 4 le teams in 9 seasons. That's more than every other team.
The Spurs are going to roll the dice and see if they can win again with this current roster. Maybe next year or the year after that you'll see a lot of movement by the Spurs.

The Spurs and Suns made a deal. Much how the Blazers did with many teams tonight. Now, since the deal wasn't made for the deadline, it was called a trade proposal. Basically the same thing as Jeff Green being drafted by the Celtics for the Sonics. We agreed to trade the rights to the player Phoenix wanted us to draft, and that was Barbosa.
