Is Marcus doing much isolation? Is he taking his man off the dribble, sutting to the basket, going baseline? Anything other than standing around for open shots?

I feel terrible for the kid.

    Is Marcus doing much isolation?
No. He took one jumper off the dribble with the shot clock running down. No pure isolations though.

Is he taking his man off the dribble, sutting to the basket, going baseline?
No. I've seen him drive the ball maybe one time.

Anything other than standing around for open shots?
That about covers it. He's not doing much of anything. Just standing around hoping to get some sort of look. Defensively, he was pretty good but not as good as he was in the first game.

I feel terrible for the kid.
In Williams' credit, most of the blame is on the point guards. Watson is horrible. Lee is more of a short shooting guard. The Spurs as a team had four assists in this game. The ball movement isn't there ... but it starts with Watson playing point (supposedly) and going 2-for-12 with zero assists.

Williams isn't getting the ball that much. And really, no one else is either. Watson for some reason plays the most minutes and thinks he's options 1, 2 and 3. If he can't find a bad shot, he'll pass it off. By then the shot clock is running down and someone has to fire up a bad shot.

What's the point of fielding a summer league team without an orchestrating point guard? They're wasting everyone's time.

I was highly impressed with Viktor.

I saw him attack the offensive glass in a aggressive manner.

A couple of times he attempted put-back slams.

He appears to be quick around the perimeter and is extremely lanky (nice wing span), which disrupts opposing players.

He can slash to the basket and appears not to be afraid of contact.

His shot is ugly, but effective.

James, has been doing what I've been claiming all along.

He has become more aggressive towards the basket and has been using the quick first step to his advantage.

I can see the confidence busrting out of him, and the one year on the bench did him well.

Like I said, I expect him to be here in November and actually making an impact on the season.

If Sanikidze continues to play well, what are the odds of him being signed next year?

Well, I don't know how serious the Spurs are in bringing him over, so I don't know how great the chances of them signing him onto the roster are.

I know he does not have any serious buy-out issues.

He has been here several times thoughout the past two seasons.

He is still extremely young, and you just don't know what you have in him because he has not been playing against top-notch european talent.

However, due to the fact that he had to declare early in the draft a couple of years back, his learning curve and potential are high.

If he continues to out shine Williams, I can see him being invited to camp along with Williams and have them battle it out for the last roster spot.

Next year as in 07-08 or 08-09? I don't think he really has a shot at making the roster this upcoming season. If a spot is freed up for a developmental player I think Mahinmi has dibs already. But if he puts together a nice showing in this summer league and then goes back to Europe and has a solid season then they'll probably bring him back to Vegas next year with the intention of signing him (assuming he doesn't fall flat on his face in next season's summer league).

Effin' BS about Williams being a cancer has gotten to him. I hope he gets his mind right. He's so damn talented when he's confident.

Arizona was 9-2 when he scored 20 or more. One of the losses was a last-second loss to Oregon as well.

Just sickens me to think that this season's failures has been laid upon the kid, when all he did, which was obvious to anyone who cared to look long enough, was put this team on his back.

Give Marcus the damn ball. Let him run the show as a point wing.

You're so right! The Trailblazers were stupid to take a lazy fat slacker like Greg Oden over a clearcut star like Belinelli (who torched a HIGH level of Summer League compe ion for 37 points today). All Oden can do is foul foul foul. Silly Trailblazers.

Considering the dismal play of our PGs I'm actually not at all opposed to that proposition. But I don't see it happening.

you guys should change the le to marco belinelli the boss.
    1. Turn on your soccer mom gay ass mini-SUV and put your lips around the exhaust pipe and breath in deeply. You should be able to manage that, you've obviously smoked some pole before.

    2. Warriors are the new Suns.... exciting, but perinial losers.

there was one play, i believe before the last Butler bricked dunk, that was hilarious in it's disappointment.

Fast break with White wide open on his way to a alley-oop dunk with no one able to get between him and the rim, so whoever the guard was tried . . . a bounce pass? lol, pretty much the only way to screw it up because the defender was right there to knock it away. A lob would have been the sure thing, not a bounce pass right at the defender. White afterwards waiting for the ball to inbounds had his head hanging and shaking like he couldn't believe it.

OMG. 53 points? 4 assists and 23 turnovers? Can we just keep White, cut everyone else and just forfeit the rest of the summer games? This is pretty embarassing. Can't the FO like order Beno to play PG for this team or something? Or find anyone else?

This CJ Watson guy must be the worst starter in summer league. Dude, if you can't run like Tony, make lay-ups like Tony or shoot the ball like Tony, then don't try to pretend you're Tony. Pass ze ing ball.

Ferry is hilarious. (bitter, too.) Got too giddy over his team beating my Pistons and got hit with a rude reality check courtesy of the Spurs.

On another note, the Spurs' SL team ain't looking too hot.

I thought Marcus earned his basket by hitting the boards hard. We had just discussed the fact that he needed to find other ways to contribute when he did that. Unfortunately it's the last time we saw it.

James did a good job of going to the hole, but tempered his aggression. I seem to recall he committed a few charges when he got minutes during the season and tried to rely on his athleticism. It's obviously a bigger advantage in SL given the compe ion, but it seemed like he was smarter in picking his spots. That dunk was really nice.
