    What game were you watching?

The Mavs were wide open everytime a Spur player tried to trap only to get lost in traffic.
They made some contested shots but it is true we tried double-teams and after the pass we were almost always late on rotations - terry exploited this all night long but he wasn't the only one. They need to be quicker if the plan is to doubleteam.

Not gonna read 38 pages, but I assume someone has mentioned how god awful Finley has been lately.

For a guy that is at a point in his career where shooting is just about the only thing he does, to shoot barely 30% from the field is pretty rediculous.

What's worse is that it's clear Udoka still does not feel comfortable in the Spurs system on offense or defense. I didn't think I'd be saying this, but there is some serious depth concern on the wings right now.

Can the Spurs keep starting Fin?
    Uh, yeah.

Finley looked worse last year and we thought the season was over in February.

The Mavs made a lot of contested shots. I wouldn't expect that to always be the case.
    I would....

The Mavs have good/great shooters that they can rely on to make tough shots in tough spots. Guys like Terry and Stackhouse are Spur-killers because they make plays despite tough defense.

As long as Spurs return the favor in December, I'm not going to be alarmed. But right now, we still have some tinkering to do with matching up against these guys.

I was afraid of this but I believe Fin is the only starter we have there unless we want to try put Barry back again like 3 years ago when the manu-bench telenovela started.

TP had an off game. He was very passive tonight. Finley is way off. He's worthless right now. The intensity didn't pickup until the Mavs were on the verge of embarrassing us.

The last three quarters were pretty good. We missed a bunch of layups. Oh well, we'll get 'em next time.

    Riiiight.

Are you kidding? I like you guys...I like this board. I just think that idea is BS. Everytime the Mavs win big or relatively big, we're padding the stats and we're not classy because we didn't take the starters out early enough to suit you. If we lose big, it's because we suck and the spurs didn't take their guys out because you were assuring the win. It's bull . Whatever, it's just my opinion. I don't think I was talking or anything...don't really know why I deserved that reaction.
It just comes with the territory.

In most times, the good Mavs posters are treated well here.

When Mavs-Spurs happens and things don't go well for SA, you're going to get alot of "GTFO you bag Mavfan!"

It's to be expected I guess.

But Barry wasn't playing as well and there weren't any other options.

Besides, Finley brought size and defense last year when he wasn't hitting his shots. I've seen nothing in regard to his defense that makes me think he can contribute effectively this year if he's not shooting the ball well.

Obviously I'm not saying he's "done", but the Spurs HAVE to look elsewhere right now, don't they?

Oh and Bonner...that dude is LOST on defense.

I'd love to see him fill the "Horry" role, but unless he improves dramatically on the defensive side of the ball, I'm not sure he gets to be more than just a simple role player for this squad.

He's got the willingess to learn, but I'm not sure if he has the capacity (athleticism, mental toughness).

This is true. Ohh well -- they're usually all nice to me -- I have alotta respect for SA. I don't come on here with the 'MAVS ARE BETTER THAN SPURS' BS.

You guys ing about the Mavs playing their starters are humorous. Seriously--has there EVER been a team that has been as dominant as the Spurs recently with fans so insecure?

Here's a hint--when you're a superior team, you don't have to walk around with an inferiority complex to a team that hasn't won .

It's funny how the toll of a couple of postseason chokes has cleaned up the Mav fan trolling in this forum. It looked like it cleaned out more than a few seats in Big D tonight too.

It's not about a rush or panicking....

It's about putting the players out on the court that give you the best opportunity to win, night in and night out. Right now, Barry gives the Spurs more opportunity because he's hitting his shots.

Spurs fans aren't insecure. They're just tired of Mav fans running their mouth without postseason success. Of course, that's a bit more subdued nowadays...

That's no . I do go to Dallas Basketball still but that's the only one that's even sort of decent. Mavs boards all pretty much suck though.

Pop's methodical and fair. It's Finley's spot to lose. But Nov. 15th is a bit too early to be writing players off. Unless they are from Slovenia.

They are insecure as . It's really incredible. Not all of them, of course. Not even 50%. But a strong portion of Spurs fans certainly don't act like their team is the modern dynasty (more or less).

It's funny to see them yell about the choker Mavs in one breath and then whine and cry when the "chokers" play their starters up by 10-12.
