ok, so optimism. tony and duncan got decent rest in the 1st half. they will probably (hopefully) come out a litte more motivated and dedicated for the 2nd half. and pop will have his game plan finallized. its winnable, we just need to play like the Spurs.

Why is it that Pop never chooses to expose the weakness of the opposition?

Bynum is out, and we're playing small ball?

matching up with the lakers, make them match up with us! GO BIG

That last bucket pretty much summed up the first half. Garbage. Being outplayed is one thing, but getting outhustled the way they are tonight is not only brutal to watch but unnacceptable. Piss poor effort.

Bill Walton is dead on. The Spurs offense is awful. They just stand around and watch the person who has the ball.

I honestly think this year is worse than last year. The record is, the play is, the defense is, the offense is. And with Pop's latest coaching strategy (smallball), I'm concerned. I don't think there will be a trade, although I want one. The front office apparently sees no problems with the team. We can't even get up for rival games against good teams. It's pathetic, it really is. I see no team defense and Pop doesn't seem to address it as the problem persists consistenly. Sure, we hold our opponents to a low total, but they shoot lights out against us constantly (nearly 46% on the season). The offense is just ridiculous, bad shot selection and just not good.
You're right about everything except it is worse this year - it isn't IMHO. I was in SA at the time and acutely aware of how poorly they were playing. This year feels just the same. BTW, we were 29-13 at the same time last year.

The big question always comes after the rodeo - that's when they really gel and knuckle down together. Can they do it yet again? Right now it doesn't feel like it, but I felt the same way last year, so I'm not going to count them out.

    They can't ?

That's EXACTLY what they did last season !

So what. That means nothing to me. Spurs are getting older, the West is tougher you just can't afford to f.uck around. You can't expect to turn it on all the time, it's not automatic, and we need some kind of offensive coordinator cause this offense today is garbage. I've never seen some shots this bad from the Spurs in a long time. That Horry shot from behind the backboard......awful.

Also last season we got back into it playing BIG and it looks as of right now Pop is thinking go small.

It was just the same last year! Everyone was talking about how we had no hope in late Jan... we have to operate on blind faith until after AS break, because you never know with our team. it's all about peaking at the right time and they've made an art of it.

the Lakers invested right on their bigs(Kareem training Bynum), now they start reaping the good pts. while on the other hand the Spurs chose Elson and chose to train() Ian from the sidelines.

I don't know what's in store for the future if my favorite Spur Tim Duncan will finally leave or retire from this team...

    but no matter what

Because of the poor performance of their favorite team, Spurs fans were given free Prozac during halftime.

Udoka needs more court time too. Why is Pop playing Barry so much when the Lakers are lighting us up? We need more defense and get a clue on offense . I never know what Pop is doing. Is he actually auditioning Barry for a trade?

They never woke up let alone made it anywhere tonight.

What do you make of this small ball TimVP. Is Pop still screwing around with lineups or was he actually thinking this might be the ticket to the top .

duncan will never leave SA. I dont think (other than injury) that he would retire before his contract is out either.
