ESPN last night reported it was 7 years/$105 million.
Unless the Mets offer something like 7/115, I think he'll be an Astro.

No way he signs with the Astros. I don't think they are willing to give him $100 million.

The Trap is set, Minaya with the Mets will panic and give in to Boras and overpay now for Beltran
the mets would have to make a considerably better offer for beltran to go there because of the taxes.
the deadline supposedly tonight at midnight.
If hes not resigned then he more than likely is gone to the Yankees.
Although, supposedly the rumor floating around now, this is according to Jayson Stark,
that the Arizona DiamondBacks are making a run at him.
Beltran will not be going to the yankees if it's not the Astros.
tpark, get your ing facts strait, the yanks arnt in the running right now bia
Astros are out.
Deadline passed.
Seems he likely to sign with the Mets
Scott Boras.
Oh well. Use the money you had intended to spend on Beltran to sign two or three good players.
Who? if I know, it's basketball season.
They should definately sign Magglio Ordonez, he is the best outfielder available. He is a very good player.
Magglio's last 6 seasons with the Sox

definitely get Ordonez. I think hes one of the most underrated baseball players out there. He is a Beltran type player in that he is a 5-tool player.
except that Maggalio is also represented by Boras.
but he won't get near the same money as Beltran
Not much left out there.
Is Ben Sheets available??
THe Astros are gonna need pitching loosing Miller and Clemens.
Oswalt Pet e aint gonna get it done.
BTW, dont feel bad, the Cubs have taken big steps backwards too loosing Clement and Grudzelanek, and supposedly trading Sosa.
Burnett is said to be on the block, perhaps they might trade for him. If they get in the Ordonez race and get him, that could convince Clemens to return.
