Henry Abbott's suggestion is to allow the fouled team to take the ball out of bounds rather than shoot FTs if they choose. That would solve the hack-a-wank problem.

These guys get paid millions of dollars to play the game... least they can do is learn how to shoot an uncontested 'free throw'...

Yup it's weak as and deep down every Spurs fan knows it too. That's why they are defending it so passionately. They are embarrassed their coach and team has to resort to that kind of tactic.

We're defending it because it's a smart strategy. They have the opportunity to score every time we do it, if they were to make their free throws it wouldn't even be an issue. It's kept the Suns from getting on a roll every time the Spurs have played them. I'm perfectly happy with that.

More basketball actually being played and less watching players attempt taking 3 minutes to take 2 shots? No way would that ever work.

It may not actually be the best solution but it would be a step in the right direction.

Hed have the advantage off the dribble but he a hesitant scorer
Being further away from the rim would only increase the likelihood of him not shooting

They look like they did in the first game. In other words they look a little sloppy at times but like it's their game to lose.
