Spurs in 5.
Good evening, San Antonio. How is that authentic bit of Texas culture, The Riverwalk, holding up these days?
In any event, I have a lot of respect for the Spurs. Only a fool would not. They're the champs until somebody knocks them off . . . which should be in six games or less. The "experience" factor has been beaten to death. It will come down to basketball, and I like the way the Hornets match up with the Spurs. The Hornets' youth, speed and athleticism will prevail in the end. And, as Roturn says (representing Section 110), you will soon hate CP3.
Wow, how random.
I'm not sure how to feel about this. There are so many of them and I feel like it'll get pretty ugly in here by the weekend.
On the other hand, they seem mostly to be such a vast improvement over the Suns trolls...
It was a joke
Got ya.My bad the spurs series has me amped Im ready for the thing to start and its nowhere close to Saturday. The avatar is greatAt least thats the Sac town Peja.
Spurs in 6. Hornets are just a better coached version of the Phoenix Suns that play more defense.
Trust me, the Hornets are very good. Last years' playoff prediction threads were funny. I was about the only person that thought they'd make the playoffs at all on this forum. And my claiming they'd make at least the 5th seed was considered blasphemy. But they're solid. The question with the Hornets was always, "will their fans support them when they leave Oklahoma." The winning was never in doubt. It seems that a poor season for the Saints and the awakening of Chris Paul can temper even the most fickle of fans however.
Okay, no problem, I think the key is between CP3, and TP, whoever gets in the lane and does the most damage really puts their team at an advantage.
Um We In no way play like the Suns. If theres any style we compare too, it would be the Spurs but still there not that much alike. We play team defense well and Tony will not be able to get down the lane like he did against the Suns. I know he will some but he will not get in the lane as much. Plus Nash and AS are not on this team. We have guys who actually try to play defense.
Never really seen the Hornets play much. Such a stupid ing name, just never been able to bring myself to watch a team called "the hornets." I mean, it sounds like a division 4 women's team name. Or some Jr High in Maine. "The Hornets"...christ.
"The Spurs"...now that's a great ing name.
Welcome bee people.
welcome, hornets fans. and good luck. well, not exactly.
Well Utah won't give us our name back. But I do agree lame name.
"Chaps" was taken?
Well Played Sir
I won't stick up for anyone who's ing, but I'd rather be whining before the series begins than crying after it's over. So... have fun with that.
Aww, what an educated and informed person you are. Your parents must be so proud.
Welcome Hornet Fans & Trolls, I guess. Born and bred coonass here, but I bleed Silver and Black, so I'll probably be a Hornet hater before the weekend is out, too.
Fais do-do, Fais do-do Hornet Fans

Start a pe ion to get it changed. How about the esteemed Mosquito?![]()
Hornets is a pretty appropriate name when CP starts flying all over the court disturbing your offense.
As for Mosquitos, that was my suggestion when they first moved down here, but Shinn likes Hornets, so we've embraced it.
actually, Scott has 3 as a player with the Lakers. How many rings does Scott have? Scoreboard trumps COTY everytime I think its absolutely charming that the Donots are in the playoffs. It probably stopped a lot of NO fans from shooting at the rescue helicopters.
Seriously though, you will find that the majority of posters here are pretty cool. We have our assholes and jerks like every other fan base. The key is to not be so ignorant as to lump all Spurs fans as being of one mindset. That seems to be the prevailing sentiment among quite a few Suns, Lakers and Mavericks fans. Stick to basketball takes and you will find a home here. We still have Pistons fans here from the 2005 finals.

I do like joking around (ask the wannabe looters on the old OKC board), but I have nothing but respect for the Spurs. And I assume the same will hold true for most of their fans.
I think we should lock this thread, because they locked the one at HornetsReport

To be more precise, the fine people of New Orleans do not speak Cajun, or Acadien French. That's a country dialect to be found in the bayou, south and west of New Orleans. You can listen to good French-language stations if you are in Lafayette or Lake Charles.
Nor do they speak with the exaggerated antebellum Southern accent like in the movies. Noone talks like that here. The whites typically speak like Easterners -- when I first moved here, I remarked that white people who grew up in Gretna or Metairie sounded like Brooklyners. It's really close, anyway.
The blacks speak African-American vernacular English, a dialect with simpler conjugations and a strange way of asking questions. "Hoos cat dat is?" instead of the standard "Whose cat is this?"
