The Hornets were sagging and playing double teaming D on Tim. PJ Brown, Vroman and Anderson did a nice job in there on him.

As long as the team wins nobody should be worried. When the other guys have an off night you know Tim is your go-to guy and will carry the team on those tough nights.
Right now every guy on the team can score 20 points so they are just sharing the load.

when the Spurs clinch something worth something, like home court of some sort.

    2nd 1st, whatever.

Duncan will be sat for the rest of the time.

The hip problem is a bit of a concern IMO.

But I agree with Aggie, he looks like a guy whos ready for the playoffs to start, and ready to kick ass when it comes.

    On a side note,

tonights game reminded me of the Suns games 2 years ago.

I would not call getting a double double pretty consistantly
playing like garbage. Besides when you have teammates like
Duncan has you dont need to eat up the stat sheet every night.
I also agree that he is saving his best for the playoffs. I respect
Duncan because he trusts his teammates and does not
have to be overwhelmed by carrying his team.

"I would not call getting a double double pretty consistantly
    playing like garbage."

What IS garbage is his reacting to 2bl or 3pl team by putting the ball on the floor.

    aka, S T R I P P E D ! ! !

The free Spurs player(s) absolutely must a make move to get open rather than stand around watching Tim get humiliated, and Tim has to be watching for them as his first and only tactic.

As the season and playoffs progress, "stop Tim Duncan" will become more and more the primary defensive strategy, and the Spurs have to be able to prevent that from also becoming "How we beat the Spurs" (as the playoff Lakers did).

Duncan is hurting. He said again last night in the postgame, that his hip injury still bothers him. He said that it's minor, not super painful. He hopes that it doesn't turn into something more serious. But that it's still "there" every night.

So Spurs fans probably shouldn't call him "garbage" when he's putting up double-doubles almost every night, still shooting a good percentage, etc.

Your act is sooooooooooo tired. You are not even in Minnesota and probably not even a Wolves fan. Start bringing legitimate takes instead of just Spurs bashing or you will no longer be welcome here.

There are a lot of fans from other teams here who actually have a brain and bring something to the table.

    Step up your game.

    "hip" ??

a bone bruise? takes time, but goes away.

or in the joint, much more serious.

btw, Tim personally is not garbage personally, but his putting the ball on the floor in traffic really stinks. I can't believe the Spurs haven't figured out a better reaction to 2bl teams.

You Spursies should just admit that talent-wise, KG>>>TD!

As the stats show, KG is doing extremely well - 23ppg and 14 rpg

Your beloved 2-time MVP* however, averages a "marginal" double-double @ 12 pts. and 10 caroms the past 10 or so games.
So what, your beloved "MVP" has led his team to a .500 record. Go home troll.

I respect his injury problem--but why try to go to the hoop by dribbling as much as he does? First of all, he's gotten into a bad habit of letting them strip the ball and secondly he's playing into situations that will aggrevate his injury.

    wolves009 is a dumbass!!!

Why the do you think that Manu and Tony can get anywhere close to twenty points in a game?

Why is Bruce constantly open in the corner for 3's?

Because teams are too worried about Tim to give a crap about the other Spurs (which is a big mistake, because they have a lot of talent).

Garnett gets the Rebounds because nobody else on his team can rebound.
Rasho, TMass, Malik, and Horry can rebound very well.

And as for the points, Tim gets doubled WAY more than Garnett ever will. Because a 1 on 1 situation w/ Tim = 2 (or 3) points.

Tim wants to get his teammates involved, so he only takes around 15 shots a game, which is nothing compared to the # of shots that KG takes. That's why the Spurs are the best team in the league, because other players besides Tim now have confidence.

    btw wolves...

^very well said and its very true.
I hope TD gets over this soon. You can tell its bothering him because his elevation isnt there like it used to be. It looked good in the phoenix game and sacramento game but o well. I hope Pop can coach the all star game that way TD can sit out alot.

So Kor seriously if his hip is hurting how come he doesn't sit out for a couple of games and come back when is is really healthy. We wouldn't want Tim Duncan really getting hurt and missing the playoffs. Now that would be a blow.

First of all I very passionate about the spurs but sucks to be in CA, even though CA is better than TX...CA sports teams suck.

As far as TD sub par performances, trust me if it wasnt for TD manu wouldnt be spectacular manu and TP would just be a 23 yr old kid. Personally, I think that TD is just waiting til' the playoffs come around, they have the best record in the league so no big worries he is just "participating" in the regular season to stay in bball shap.

Also, if you think about its a good TEST for the ROLE players; if you recall last yr the lakers basically clogged the middle and forced TD to pass the ball out and that when HEDO, Tony, and some of the other ROLE player didnt come through. Atleast now we know that they are capable of winning a game without TD at full force.

Last night againts the Hornets he shot 4-9, he is the 2-time MVP, 2-time finals MVP, all-star co mvp, rookie of the yr, second player in league history to be named to both an All-NBA Team and All-Defensive Team in each of his first seven seasons in the league...I AM 100% SURE HE COULD OF PUT UP 20 GOOD SHOT IF HE LIKED AND POP/TEAM WOULDNT OF SAID A WORD BUT INSTEAD HE DEFFERED SOME SHOTS and look tp came up big im sure tp confidence is high.

Good point(s), TDrules01. Welcome to the Forum.

Tim isn't handling the ball quite as much as in years past, either. If you notice, Tim is on pace to have his all-time low in Turnovers/Game (2.11). He's also on pace for one of his lower Assists/Game years (2.6). TP and Manu are handling the ball more and shooting it more. Tim is going with the flow and not forcing it as often as he usually is asked to do in the post.

TD Prediction for upcomming road trip:

TD will avg over 25ppg 13rpg. I think he is really looking forward to this road trip and i think he is going to have 35p 20r 3bl 4a TraDemark performance againt the sonics cuz he knows how bad it would be to go 0-3 againts them. also i'm sure he is tired of hearing danny fortson talking smack, and antonio daniels was/is his good friend and you know how that is.
