In one of G4's interviews during E3, the developers said that they're staying true to the DC characters -- the heroes will have brutalities when they win a match, not fatalities. The DC villains and MK characters are the only ones who will actually kill their opponent.

Brutalities are worse than fatalities. Or last time I checked it is, because in MK Trilogy, a Brutality was when the person beats teh out of the other person until they explode.

Brutalities were a tier version of "Ultra Combos" from Killer Instinct. They should have never existed, along with animalities.
