The San Antonio Spurs have finally reached the end of the 2025 Rodeo Road Trip. Tonight, the Spurs go against the Memphis Grizzlies in what is their 12th straight game away from the Frost Bank Center. The Spurs enter the affair with a record of 24-33, while the Grizzlies sport a record of 38-21.
San Antonio hasn’t played a true home game since Feb. 1. The Spurs did play a pair of games in Austin, however. Counting all 11 games played so far, the Silver and Black have a record of 3-8 on the trip. Overall, the Spurs have lost four straight games and five of their last six.
When San Antonio returns home on Sunday, things won’t be easy. The Oklahoma City Thunder will be the matchup at the Frost Bank Center. At 48-11, OKC has far and away the best record in the Western Conference. The Denver Nuggets at 39-21 are second in the West but 9.5 games behind the Thunder.
At 38-21, the Grizzlies are the third seed in the West. In the entire NBA, Memphis has the sixth best record. Jaren Jackson Jr, the son of a former Spurs player, leads the Grizzlies in scoring with an average of 22.8 points. Ja Morant is putting up averages of 20.9 points, 7.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds.
San Antonio Spurs Injury Update
Charles Bassey will miss another game with a knee injury. Bassey’s troublesome knees continue to hold him back. If he were healthy, there’s a good chance that he’d be starting at center due to the absence of Victor Wembanyama.
San Antonio Spurs Starting Lineup
Since the Spurs have lost four straight games, don’t be surprised if interim head coach Mitch Johnson decides to change things up. Recently, he’s been starting Devin Vassell and Harrison Barnes at forward, Chris Paul and De’Aaron Fox at guard and Bismack Biyombo at center.
Biyombo has played well as the starting center and will be sticking around San Antonio for the rest of the season. After signing a pair of ten-day contracts, the Spurs gave the 14-year veteran a full-term deal. Biyombo, 32, is averaging 5.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per game and has started five of the six contests he’s played in for the Spurs.
Betting Guide: Spurs at Grizzlies
The Grizzlies are favored by 8.5 points and the over/under is 243.5 points. The smart money is on Memphis. The Spurs have played poorly recently and don’t show any signs of being able to hang with one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
