By 2015-16 shale producers over supplied the market while taking on tons of debt. By 2019 investors had cut off the money for more production until producers showed restraint and started delivering on the promised ROI. Then the pandemic happened.

All that's happening is the oil market coming back into balance, shale producers are showing restraint on increasing production and instead focusing on free cash flow and debt reduction. Most are planning to begin increasing production again by 2nd qtr '22.

So what's happening now is what was destined to happen anyways. Gas prices are returning to the sustainable price they should be as Winehole's chart shows. Repugs are effectively blaming Dems for it and Biden is freaking out. Jmo, but it looks like Biden is going to suc b to political pressure and make things worse by trying to intervene in the energy market. Just in time for the midterms.

Should really go for $6, take the initial impact, and whenever it goes below $6, Brandon can say "I did that".

You're talking oil at $150 like some have predicted. I can only hope that happens.

At that price, electric/hybrid becomes much more enticing. That's why most Euro car companies are moving to electric. Right now the gallon of gas in France is $7.31, Germany $6.93, UK $7.48, etc.

Asia isn't that much different. Japan $5.28, South Korea $5.15, China $4.51... Gas in the US has always been pretty cheap.

Think of higher gas prices as a tax break for big oil and the furthering of trickle down economics if that makes you to feel better!

    Oh, look...

Oil prices rose to a seven-year high Tuesday amid ongoing supply concerns and escalating tensions in the Middle East, but Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods is confident they will trend lower.

″[W]e anticipated higher prices. We also anticipate a lot of volatility. And frankly we’re anticipating lower prices as we go forward,” he said.

    You keep mentioning this.

You having trouble buying gas? You should look into a bus pass. Or ask members of your church for a ride.

Nah, it's wishful thinking. I bought OXY at $27. $150 oil would be sweet tbh. Bonus is Brandon would get the blame. Cancelled Keystone, socialism, etc.

I'm thinking about it. My Lexus is starting to show it's age, and here in California we get some nice incentives. Just not sure what yet. Been looking at the Audi Q5 and/or Q7.

Just not a great time to buy a car. With the supply shortage, new cars are hard to find and even used cars sell at a premium.

The gift that keeps on giving. The Biden years. Border problems. Foreign Affairs disaster. Covid mutated strains on the rampage. Inflation cruising higher. Stock Market cruising lower. and you cant even get a new car without getting bent over...but hey....he'll take care of your college debt for ya and pay you to have more babies.
