I'm leaning that way as well because of the timing. Assuming he'd even want the job, Meyer is the only guy who could come immediately.
You're waiting at least three weeks on the others.
Yeah, that one.

DE Kolin Hill of Schertz Clemens has committed to Notre Dame.
I knew the answer tbh.
That was my way of pointing out that John seems to be in a pretty good position in the NFL too (same as Jim). I know Texas is a Top 3 (atleast) job in college football but some of these 'candidates' seem farfetched even for them imo.
Dude completely blew up to end the season. Will be interesting to see where his twin brother ends up.
None of those seems realistic. I think Patterson's going to surprise people and go for an up-and-coming coach. Most new ADs would be looking to make a splash hire for credibility, but if his press conference is any indication of his personality, Patterson doesn't give a flying what we think.
I know its not a popular choice and most have not heard of him, but James Franklin from vandy I think will get some attention from UT brass..Guy deserves to get attention with turning around a program like vandy in the SEC in a short amount of time.
Not with the allegations he covered up a rape.
Again, simply allegations thus the low amount of publicity this story has taken on. Definatly something that will come up though if he meets with patterson.
I didn't ever take the James Franklin to Texas hype serious and still am not sure that it could happen but I am intrigued by his youth and fiery at ude that preaches accountability. A couple things that have apparently been missing down in Austin. I believe the players at UT would respond well to his methods of coaching. A video I'll post even shows that his assistant coaches and players exude the same fiery approach as Franklin. Don't take this the wrong I am not saying this would translate to wins I just think it would be a great transition from what we are accustomed to. http://youtu.be/X5bkDMGZA1I
Bleacher report has Texas' new head coach odds as:
James Franklin 3/1
Mike Gundy 4/1
Jim Mora 8/1
Mike Tomlin 12/1
Isn't bleacher report essentially just random fan postings?
JUCO S Kenny Iloka has decided to commit to TCU.
Ouch... I have a feeling everyone of our commits is being targeted hard too.
@SportsCenter
Crazy Stat of the Day: Justin Tucker kicked 248 yards worth of field goals, 13 more than Matthew Stafford's 235 yards passing.
@ESPNMondayNight:
Mr. #MNF, Justin Tucker, became the first player EVER to kick FGs in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s last night.
Todd Fuhrman @ToddFuhrman
Yesterday @Sportsbook_com had Charlie Strong listed as a 5-2 fav to be next HC at Texas. As of this morning he's 6-5
DE Jackson Jeffcoat and K Anthony Fera have been named AP All-Americans.
Jeffcoat is first team and Fera is on the second team.
I heard he has like a $5 million buyout. I'm not sold on him anyway.
Neither of them have a fantastic track record (even though Vandy's winning, Franklin has only beaten one ranked team and it was this year's injury-riddled Georgia team), but I think Franklin would be the better choice.... don't really see him coddling players like Mack did, tbh....
Scipio at Barking Carnival wrote a good article deconstructing Franklin's tenure at Vandy. Some excerpts:
The central problem with Franklin is that of all blank slate hires: a lack of record. Given his likability, accompanied by a corresponding lack of context, the optimistic conclusions that are projected into a Franklin future at a place like Texas are downright giddy.Vanderbilt's historically extraordinary 2012 5-3 SEC conference record was fueled by wins over four awful teams and a one point victory over an average one...Ah, wins increasing as schedule strength plummets. The secret to good living in the SEC lower middle class.Being a great recruiter has two components - targeting and acquisition. Being a great coach adds another two: deployment and development. His acquisition looks good. His targeting is up in the air. His development and deployment look solid at Vanderbilt, but I'm not sure how they project elsewhere.http://www.barkingcarnival.com/2013/...anklin-problemHe was a subpar to mediocre offensive coordinator at KSU and Maryland who may, frighteningly, think that he's a good one. He's an out-of-step West Coast Offense proponent, championing a system going as quickly out of favor in the current NFL as it is dead in the college game. What offensive philosophy will he hire in? Does he know what good looks like? He looks a like a pretty self-assured guy to me. Do you think he'll take a backseat to his OC and let him run the show?
I know myself and a few others have been looking for some tape on '15 DT Daylon Mack. Here is it.
