You have more posts than me here...
You could have had more but you need time to search for stats...
and i think it's ok for everyone if you post less.
That is some serious cherry picking stats you have there. Duncan has had some great games, and some not so great games against LA. Some of his fantastic games went for losses. Some crappy ones went for wins
Some notable losses:
40 pts 15 rbs 4 blks
34 pts 25 rbs 4 asts
30 pts 18 rbs 4 blks
30 pts 11 rbs 6 asts 4 blks
29 pts 17 rbs 3 asts 3 blks
28 pts 14 rbs 6 asts 5 blks
Overall playoff stats against LA: 25.2 pts 13.6 rbs 4.2 asts 2.3 blks .9 stls
...either way, it has been a pretty good rivalry, much closer than Laker fans want to admit.
Kobe/ Shaq Era
99 - SA sweep
01 - LA sweep
02 - LA 4-1
03 - SA 4-2
04 - LA 4-2 (.04 series)
as close as you can get...
05
06 - LA wasn't good enough to face SA
07
Kobe/ Gasol-Bynum Era
08 - LA 4-1
09, 10 - SA not good enough to face LA
11 - LA not good enough to face SA
...the problem I have with many LA fans is that despite rooting for the most successful basketball franchise of all-time, they are also extremely defensive and are incapable of giving credit when credit is due to other teams. There is enough room for more than one great team. LA fans liken the Spurs to the Kings or T-wolves....and that is just arrogant...
I didn't cherrypick. Those were the games that were close. The rest were not, maybe a couple that I might of missed, but it's clear Kobe's better.
Bryant sucks
Bump.
We need to bring this thread back imo. Too many Lakers/Kobe threads here. Keep it all in here, folks.
Awesome. This is what the NBA forum needs, tbh.
Is this the thread for Kirby donning the bag on James' orders or for Kirby shining Pippen's shoes for eternity?
So much hope and joy in this thread around page 35...then Lakerfan forgets it ever existed. It's like the Lakers version of 6, just in slow motion over several seasons.
Just so we all get caught up:
December 2012
Is Kobe Bryant shooting the Lakers out of games?
February 2013
Kobe commits 8 turnovers and only scores 4pts against the Suns
April 2013
Kobe tears Achilles
November 2013
Lakers sign Kobe to 2 year, 48.5 million dollar extension
December 2013
Kobe Bryant breaks bone in his knee
March 2014
Kobe ruled out for the rest of the season
Kobe throws the everyone under the bus
Kobe quits again?
Just another in the long list of Quits that have defined this got's career
The Cuff
Time to lock this thread
