    this is insane, completely unprecedented.

i have been pro-Primo the entire time. Whatever it is that he did, the spurs need to examine their bull assessment models that led them to pick a kid that they cut one year later.

their head-shrinker character testing machine is clearly on the ing fritz
Too early to speculate but reach for a high character player just to invest and cut him for what is probably a non spurs character move.

Primo probably just didn't want to play on pride night and the Spurs said if you don't support the gots you can bounce

I mean...to just waive a guy. In the NFL I guess they waived Kareem Hunt for physical abuse and then he went to the Browns. For sexual assault, Kobe had the Lakers behind him and even Pop said things to advocate for Kobe. If it was murder, I doubt we would not all know about it now. That would get out fast. It has to be less than murder and smoking gun proof. I guess Henry Ruggs got cut after his DUI accident that killed someone, but again, that hit the news fast. I just don't see murder or manslaughter not being front page news.

I can't imagine the Spurs would just waive Primo like this if say it was found he had a rare disease that would end his career. This has gotta be something criminal.

They wouldn't keep that under wraps.

    My guess is statutory rape.

At 19, was he dipping his dipstick somewhere where he shouldn't ?
Assuming it was consensual and wasn't with a child or a married staff member, can't imagine there's anywhere a 19 year old shouldn't be dipping his dipstick. And even the married staff member thing has already been done around here so I can't see that as a terminable offense.

This franchise can't keep from being a Trainwreck.

The only things I can think of that would warrant a waive would have involved an arrest which would be public.

    Everything else could have waited.

Step 1 without news breaking: still recovering
Step 2 without news breaking: sent to Austin for development

If news of something bad has broken: asked to step away from the team

Based on their history, they probably handled this poorly

If it was an immediate crime, he would've been arrested and that would get in the news fast. So it would have to be something else, I would think.

Primo was listening to Westside Gunn's Hitler Wears Hermes 10. Pop said "turn that off" and Primo replied with "I like Hitler"

Even if something is really wrong with his knee like cancer, I doubt they'd cold waive him. It's hard to imagine even something medical being the reason, but that would explain their complete unwillingness to talk about it.

I was just talking to someone yesterday afternoon about how impressed the team was with Primo.

Lemme see if I can find out what happened. I just have a lot of "WTF" texts so far ....
honestly i would give a "WTF" text if somebody told me the team was impressed with Primo

Tim Duncan himself is on a text chain I'm reading and doesn't know what happened.

Initial speculation is it isn't something criminal but what else could it be?

Probably refused to wear that SATX jersey. In all seriousness, I hope he didn’t do something criminal and life altering. He seemed like a decent dude with upside.

    Nah,
Spurs wouldn't drop someone for medical reasons, doubt even if he tested positive for drugs.
    Truly bizarre
