The an has 6GB and performs a little less than a 970, the an Black does also and performs a little less than a 980, and an X has 12 GB and performs a little higher than a 980 Ti.
Prolly forgot the an has like 12GB of memory... that isn't coming down in price anytime soon.

didn't know there was a non X an, tbh... haven't really looked at cards until recently...
There is also an Z, which is dual an Blacks and launched at three ing thousand dollars, I kid you not. Then like a month or two later AMD released the R9 295x2 for $1400 that destroyed it.
People who buy ans deserve to be punched.
Christ, the first page of this thread is full of otry. This is why people hate PC gamers.
Yeah, I can understand buying a Playstation 4 (but XBox One is still ). If you're not going to spend $800 or more on a gaming computer then there is no reason to not just buy a $350 PS4 instead unless you're a got Warcraft player or a kid into Minecraft.
"I'm happy paying a little bit more for the convenience and getting to play with all my friends I interact with in real life."
"No, you ing imbecile, PC game g is the only way to go. The community is even tighter. Who cares if you can't play with people you actually know. More likely than not, they are all huge ots."
That DJR210 went full commando with his PC master race rants.
DJR is a cool poster. We've all had moments on this site tbh. If you pull some of my old stuff, I know I'd bury my head in the sand.
It's no moment, it's a way of life, peasant.
Xbox>>>>>All.
The true master race. Plus, as mentioned above, I get to talk and play with people I actually know, not some Warcraft dweeb that will threaten to hack my account.
Which other consoles did you own, to compare?
And you owned a SNES growing up?
I owned a sega genesis and a gameboy. Had little interest in the SNES or PS1 when that came out.
OG Xbox over PS2? No way man, that's crazy talk.
pc gaming,,,, aimbots, wall hacks that .
I've only seen that in Counter Strike GO.. that's the only place with losers hardcore enough to want to use that
Im neither but I do need my fix of Civ 5. Whats a good video card these days? I need a card that will be able to play Civilization 6 when it comes out....
don't care about other shooter bull games IMO
this a good card nigs?

Oh and regarding these anemic consoles. It's obvious Sony and msft are making a load on the games. Why even bother to come out with a beast of a console? They are still squeezing every last cent from these fat greasy console slobs and their parents
They don't give a .
Spend a lil more for a 970 imo
Thanx bro..i thought so. Cheapest I can find one is 300
A GTX 960 is good if you want to play the new Civilization at 1080p, 60 fps, since a GTX 670 can do 60 fps and a GTX 960 is better (the 960 performs in between the GTX 670 and GTX 770). Who knows when Civ VI will even be out though? No sense to overspend on a card now and maybe it's still not enough for the new game. Or maybe it's still overkill. With GPUs you can't really plan for the future at least buying high end , because they still improve a lot every year, unlike CPUs where i7s from 2009 are still good and i5s from 2011 are still great.

A 970 is overkill and a waste of money for someone only looking to play Civilization unless you're playing 1440p or higher.
Even if the 960 can't do 60 fps in Civ 6 in late 2016 or early 2017 (I can't imagine it's getting a 2015 release or an early 2016 release with no announcement yet), is Civ the kind of game where you need 60 fps for smooth gameplay? Or is it the kind of game where 45 fps is fine, since it's turn based? 45 fps is terrible in a shooter or playing GTA V, but in a game where you're not making quick movements is it bad? Even in the worst case where a 960 isn't enough in late 2016 or early 2017 for Civ VI, just sell your 960 for $100 on eBay and buy the new $200 GPU then, I'd be shocked if the midrange 60-series Pascal card in late 2016 or early 2017 or the new AMD 80-series card with HBM in late 2016/early 2017 isn't more powerful than a $330 GTX 970.
