Meanwhile, a suicide car bombing killed seven people at a hotel in Egypt’s Sinai region. Among those killed were two judges and four police officers. An ISIS affiliate in Sinai took responsibility for the attack.
The attack began as cops and soldiers guarding the hotel opened fire on an explosives-laden car approaching the building, blowing it up before it reached the hotel, officials said.
As the drama unfolded outside, two militants slipped inside the hotel. One detonated an explosives vest in the hotel's kitchen, while the second opened fire in a hotel room.
Military authorities said all militants involved in the attack were killed, but gave no other details.
