He is what he is. Don't expect him to develop any new skills, just expect him to play hard.

Smart, Thompson, Brooks, and Adams sounds like a team not many teams would want to play unless they got shoulder pads.

Wasn't Derrick's dad a huge Boston fan? I vaguely recall someone saying that his dad was happy he was traded to the Celtics as that was his dad's favourite team? Edit: Just clicked on the link, and yeah, Derrick's dad is a Celtics and Redsox fan.

That DJ/DW back court really could have been something if they had a true number one but those moves had to be made from our perspective. White has an opportunity to be part of a new dynasty if all those guys stay humble. The White vs DJ conversation is a ST bootleg TP vs Manu debate though.

Right-o. As for getting into the draft, NOLA is rumored to maybe want to sell their 21 for future seconds. NYK have 24 and 25 and are rumored to not want both (or either?). I'm not sure moving much higher is feasible and that's where McCain will be.

There is still value in getting a workout in with a player who you may have little chance of getting. It gives you some opposition scouting, but it also might be a player that really intrigues you that you may not draft but you'll want to keep tabs on throughout their if a trade opportunity or FA...

1803785253414129826 Dream scenario for us tbh…Risacher and Sarr go 1/2, then Memphis trades 9 + Smart to grab Clingan at 3. We take Sheppard at 4 and then grab your preferred choice of Castle/Buzelis/Holland/Williams depending on who’s available at 8. Extra benefit because I think Sheppard...

I agree with all of this, but as a matter of obfuscation, the Spurs could achieve the same level of "smokescreen" by working out EVERYONE as opposed to not working out their preferred targets in hopes of "masking" their interest. In fact, working out everyone might be even more of a smokescreen in...

By saying these ex-players didn't get their jobs by merit, it discounts the value that an ex-player brings to the table simply by virtue of being an ex-player. It's not like the used their rich daddy to get the job, or blackmailed the owner or some shit. If you want to say Steve Kerr didn't get...

This, exactly. Don't buy into any preconceived formula, stay flexible. I ran across a great John Wooden quote recently, and I think it sums up the way to approach team building (or life in general): "Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out." You can be...

Wouldn't be surprised if Zach Edey goes in the lottery too. If Gobert can get maximum money and traded for 4 first round picks then there is definitely a case for Edey and Clingan who looks better.

Would love to see him implement two things. A skyhook shot like Kareem. And a set shot, free-throw style but him keeping the ball high in the air when facing his defender and all he needs is a wrist flick to get the shot up.

can someone tell me, why McCain worked out for the Warriors, when they have only the #52 pick? sounds as if they have a deal in place, likely for a late lottery pick? what do they give? Podziemsky? (but they say they love him), or maybe a future 1st (low protected?) ok.....what about this:...

I keep circling back to Castle for that reason as well. He checks a lot of boxes off the bat and looks committed to improving. I was super high on Blake Wesley until he showed up in his second year not having improved in any way. He's just gonna improve with experience and maturity and make his...

Rumors that three teams are vocal about trading into the 3 spot. Charlotte, Portland, and Memphis, with Hornets and Grizzlies the most aggressive. One would think the target is Clingan, who might not even be there. Crazy that Donovan Clingan is the massive hinge for this draft. Not something I'd...

A lot of these guys are hard workers, but it's Castle and Carter here. Carter's interview talking about how he learned to work off two feet was really impressive. Castle is known to be a hardass worker. It's a reason why I don't care much about the shooting concerns. He'll get it done.

Putin would never bend the knee to people like fatboy if he were doing well. btw China really does not like this. Kim is useful but he is also hard to control. The hardest working players in the NBA are the best five guys and the worst five guys. The NBA is full of massively talented players who could be great but their job is safe, they are rich and don't have to work super hard. The more I look at guys who rise up in their draft class, guys like SGA...

It may be turning to that. But so far in the whole war, the Shahed has been a load on Ukraine. The are so many they can overwhelm air defenses, although it looks like that has been corrected by Ukraine based on what I read. The war has taken a turn for Ukraine now. When those Russian artillery...
