he needs to be balanced. of course, running is what he does best, so really he needs to learn to pass efficiently mainly to keep defenses honest. he doesnt need to base his game off passing though and turn himself into something he is not. he needs to try to basically do what he did in college. if everyone is covered, then scramble out to see if the defense will open up by pursuing him for his running ability and find an open man. if everyone is covered, then that pretty much means he has some room to run.

the Titans' receivers are so bad even Peyton Manning would look like shit if he had to throw to them.

very true. not to take anything away from Manning, as he is unquestionably the best pure passer the NFL has ever seen, but its definitely easier to be throwing 30 TDs a season with guys like Harrison and Wayne.
the fact that VY improved to completeing over 60% of his passes shows that he definitley has passing ability. IMO completetion percentage is more important than TD/INT ration when showing a QB's passing ability. the TDs can fluctuate a lot due to playcalling (titans are a run first team, and why not when you got a good redzone runner like Lendale White), and INTs are not always QB's fault, as many times its due to a poorly ran route or dropped passes (as was often the case for the titans this season and im not saying that just to defend VY. anyone who watched them knows that its the truth.)
hopefully having a good checkdown guy like Crumpler can help. and perhaps a veteran like McCariens (who had played with McNair) can help a bit as well.

I love VY, he tries too much to be a player he's not. He's not a pocket passer and that's what his main problem.
He listens to the media way too much, and he always tries to prove them wrong, but it ends up hurting the team more. Hopefully he can use his legs more next year and we'll be a playoff team again..

I think a lot of it had to do with Norm Chow. A lot of people and Titan's fans say that he was really trying to push VY to be a passer and his playcalling did not fit what he does best at all. Without him there, lets see what kind of offense the run now.

Vince Young accomplished just as much as Tony Romo last season.
I guess Romo should retire too.

They both quarterbacked their team into the playoffs. Neither of them won in the playoffs.

What does Romo have to do with anything?
VY was the one who first brought up retirement...

They both won the same amount of games and had the same TD/INT ratio?
However, using your rationale, they both accomplished the same thing that Tom Brady did . . . they didn't win the Super Bowl.

Help me...I'm confused how VY is the same as Romo.

Mike Heimerdinger, the new offensive coordinator should do well Vince and the Titans, as he has enjoyed success with Fisher before.

Use his running ability to pass. Titans need to get him some receivers. That was one of their biggest draft needs, yet they drafted a RB in the first round. 18 WR's went off the board before they took one in the 4th round. Don't blame Vince completely for the passing.

yes, zero. in the playoffs. when it matters.
making the playoffs is an accomplishment. VY and Romo did that. Good job. Winning a playoff game is a bigger accomplishment. Making it to the super bowl is an even bigger accomplishment. so brady accomplished more than either of them. Obviously winning the Super Bowl is the biggest of all, so Eli > Brady > Philip Rivers > Vince Young = Romo in accomplishments during the 2007 season.

This is a stupid thread. QB's throw, run second. I don't care how fast or elusive you are. Aside from that, as long as you win none of this matters. If he wins more games You will still be on his dick. The more he runs, the greater chance he will get hurt, then everyone will say he was trying to do too much. Pass then run if necessary.
yeah, that's what was said.

Dropping f-bombs and calling people a fag on a forum makes me think you're like 15 or something. That and the thread where you were telling people to kill themselves. I mean no insult. Its just a weird thing.

But in the spirit of toning it down, you are one misguided fucknut, Evan. Go kill yourself, fag.

They both quarterbacked their team into the playoffs. Neither of them won in the playoffs.
Vince Young's team carried his sorry ass to the playoffs......if you want to call what he did last season "quarterbacking" then the damn kicker was the real quarterback, because he's the one that saved their season while Young could never get the ball in the endzone.
I mean please don't tell me your a VY apologist........that overrated bum already has the entire national media making excuses for him, I don't think he needs you too.
