Run.
It's the only thing he can do.
he needs to be balanced. of course, running is what he does best, so really he needs to learn to pass efficiently mainly to keep defenses honest. he doesnt need to base his game off passing though and turn himself into something he is not. he needs to try to basically do what he did in college. if everyone is covered, then scramble out to see if the defense will open up by pursuing him for his running ability and find an open man. if everyone is covered, then that pretty much means he has some room to run.
his QB rating said otherwise his final year in college, where he was #1 in the nation.
At least he has that. Schaub can't do either.
the ans' receivers are so bad even Peyton Manning would look like if he had to throw to them.
very true. not to take anything away from Manning, as he is unquestionably the best pure passer the NFL has ever seen, but its definitely easier to be throwing 30 TDs a season with guys like Harrison and Wayne.
the fact that VY improved to completeing over 60% of his passes shows that he definitley has passing ability. IMO completetion percentage is more important than TD/INT ration when showing a QB's passing ability. the TDs can fluctuate a lot due to playcalling ( ans are a run first team, and why not when you got a good redzone runner like Lendale White), and INTs are not always QB's fault, as many times its due to a poorly ran route or dropped passes (as was often the case for the ans this season and im not saying that just to defend VY. anyone who watched them knows that its the truth.)
hopefully having a good checkdown guy like Crumpler can help. and perhaps a veteran like McCariens (who had played with McNair) can help a bit as well.
I love VY, he tries too much to be a player he's not. He's not a pocket passer and that's what his main problem.
He listens to the media way too much, and he always tries to prove them wrong, but it ends up hurting the team more. Hopefully he can use his legs more next year and we'll be a playoff team again..
I think a lot of it had to do with Norm Chow. A lot of people and an's fans say that he was really trying to push VY to be a passer and his playcalling did not fit what he does best at all. Without him there, lets see what kind of offense the run now.
hes quite good at doing that
then I stand by my previous reply
0-4 - Kerry Collins
8-4 - Vince Young
fail.
Vince Young accomplished just as much as Tony Romo last season.
I guess Romo should retire too.
how do you figure?
They both quarterbacked their team into the playoffs. Neither of them won in the playoffs.
What does Romo have to do with anything?
VY was the one who first brought up retirement...
ah the similarities are deep indeed.
are you really trying to branch out beyond your got niche sport again? Stick to what you know.
They both won the same amount of games and had the same TD/INT ratio?
However, using your rationale, they both accomplished the same thing that Tom Brady did . . . they didn't win the Super Bowl.
Help me...I'm confused how VY is the same as Romo.
he should retire and stop crying. If he starts winning ill be a fan.
