The mother did ask Obama not to mention her son anymore in an E-mail to him. She never got a answer to the e-mail. The father said they wanted Obama to take it off. He is now stationed in Cuba and until we hear his side of things this is still a he said she said. A shameless lie --I don't think so!

I could be mistaken but I believe the mother gave Obama the bracelet. The ex-husband is also a McCain supporter. Surprise surprise.

I didn't read any story that stated that they supported McCain or Obama.

If you have a link please share it with us---

The kids parents are divorced and both wanted Obama to stop using the bracelet and mentioning his name in speeches.

The Dad supports the Iraq war.
The Mother supports Obama but did ask him to stop.

She may have changed her position but I bet she didn't, she just wants Obama to win so she's covering.

And it's been established that Obama was still wearing the bracelet ans using the name in speeches after they asked him to stop.

Whether or not anything has changed with the Mom I doubt very seriously the Dad's opinion has changed.

The woman shouldn't have given Obama the bracelet in the first place the way she did if she didn't want him wearing it and using his name in speeches. I mean she asked Obama to know him and remember him and that's what he was doing.

But regardless now, Obama needs to respect the wishes of the parents period...every time he mentions the kids name the parents relive his death...if either of them are asking him to stop he needs to stop.

The mother herself said she didn't think he would have mentioned it had McCain not mentioned the bracelet he received. Do you have an objective bone in your body? The mother gave a fucking statement saying she was "ecstatic".

Interesting...

Tracy Jopek, who lives in Merrill, has been an Obama backer since the Illinois senator announced his candidacy for president last year.

"I believe he will lead us in the right direction, he will tell us the truth and be upfront and honest with us," says Jopek.

She continues to choke up when Obama mentions her Ryan on the campaign trail, as the presumptive Democratic nominee frequently does.

"To know that he does know his name," Jopek says of the senator and her son. "It means a lot."

I know this isnt' as impressive as Whottt's WA poll or Sarah "Putin rears his head" Palin but here you go. Yet another poll showing an Obama win.

A new Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a3EhjHAVkUjI&refer=home) finds the presidential debate "changed the preferences of few voters, reinforcing previous perceptions about the candidates' strengths and continuing to give Sen. Barack Obama an advantage over Sen. John McCain."

Among voters who watched Friday's debate, Obama leads McCain, 49% to 44%.

What's funny is you think Putin is going to be friends with Obama or something.....I know that's what Obama will try to do, but if you think Putin is going to do that you are naive.

Please don't even attempt to say that Obama is going to intimidate Putin.

Me saying Obama would intimidate Putin - as foolish as it would be - is so far ahead of your stupid assertion that Putin would be intimidated by motherfucking Palin its not even comparable. Get a grip. You're fucking losing it!

I don't think I said she was intimidating...I think I said she was ruthless. If I did say she was intimidating I meant ruthless. She is. Totally different animal and ruthless woman is much more dangerous than ruthless man. Men continually underestimate women when it comes to this sort of thing, if you haven't learned that yet Manny, you will before it's all over with. You'll meet one sooner or later.

HaHa both of them are way to conservative for me. But I'll vote for the dem every time. I see how great your free market is doing. Hopefully they reign in Wall Street like they should have done a long time ago. Hope we can save the dollar first though. Repubs tried their best to fuck it up.

Yeah, the same one I saw in 2004 when Kerry won all of them.

This case it's different...was a mistake to play the race card...everyone is afraid of being called a racist, but the end result is going to be the Obama camp thinking their message is working...and all those people afraid of being called racists aren't going to be worried about that when they vote.

I understand all evidence points to a Democratic victory, UNLIKE 2004 (no matter how many times you try to say this it wont' make it true), but I also understand that your insane infatuation with Palin renders all that moot. I'll keep providing real evidence of the way this race is trending and you can keep providing anecdotes to the contrary.

:lmao @ whottt being in love with Sarah Palin.

If whott were a fish, he would've chomped down hard on the Palin bait. He's too embarrassed to admit he fell head over heels in love with a moron unqualified to be President. Bet you wish he could figure out a way to get that lure out his mouth in a face-saving way.

This guy has done jack fucking shit in his career, he is a blank slate, and an empty suit, he is a lawyer backed by every major conglomerate I can think of with an assload of corrupt associations.....completely backed by every major media outlet the country, and you guys have shown a willingness to go to prison for him.

Ya'll are the creepy ones that have been seduced...not I.

Better run along now...Obama needs to be wiped.

But, did any one of you that voted in the poll credit the win to someone that was not your candidate?

Nope. My candidate and my vote went to Mr. Lehrer. :toast
