Olbermann and Maddow's shows apparently have audience growth going for them. Billo still wins most of his time slots.

David Gregory is their best journalist, but he's on too early for most people to see. I still think he's the best candidate to get the "Meet the Press" gig after the election.

Chris Matthews aka "Tweety" is my favorite MSNBC analyst. He does not suffer fools lightly, and he absolutely will not stand for people who misstate historical facts. His knowledge of US political history and even world events is impressive.

If I had to align my own views with anyone on MSNBC it would be Chris. He's a conservative leaning Democrat who is quite simply appalled by the GOP. Some of the shit coming out of the GOP makes me fear for my country.

I have major issues with many things that Moore does in his films. The deceptive editing and misleading or manipulating facts are inexcusable. It is also stupid and sloppy since the things he generally documents are damning enough without the parlor tricks. That said, he is a champion for the lower and middle class and a genuinely nice guy. I believe his commitment and passion makes him a little tunnel visioned. While this would be a huge problem for me if he were running for government office, it is less an issue for me since he's in the entertainment industry. I do wish he wasn't so incendiary with his rhetoric as I feel it undermines his legitimacy. Also, like Ralph Nader, he suffers from the stubborn idealists curse of refusing to compromise in order to take steps forward. For two men who know well that we don't live in a perfect world, they never seem to tire of hammering round pegs into square holes.

I have no issue with Maher's TV shows. He says what he really thinks and doesn't cow-tow to anyone's agenda. Very often I disagree with his point of view and I find him to be both slightly homophobic and sexist, but not in any sinister way. Certainly not in any way that he would ever intentionally disrespect or limit the rights of an individual. Maher does not follow either party's company line and what he says is all his own. I also think he's funny in the over-the-top smartass way that appeals to me.

Olbermann and his ilk of rapid-fire french fry journalism can all drown in a river. I can't stand any of their types on either side of the left/right spectrum.

I suspect that all three of them will continue to laugh all the way to the bank no matter who wins any elections.
