can we have a Vbookie on who scores more, Manu or JR? :smokin Manu always kills the Nuggets but i'm hoping iGK s finally come around and letting JR get decent minutes.

The crazy thing is that JR is getting more minutes coz of his play on the defensive end lol Everyone knows he can score but we need his D

There's no such thing as a must-win game in December, but this definitely falls under the "measuring stick game" column. The Spurs need to show up and play 48 against a good team on national TV.

Nuggets 111, Spurs 88.

This is the best place for Spurs info; good, bad, and ugly. There are some people here with incredible basketball knowledge.

The people still here when the Spurs aren't doing well are the ones that bleed silver and black. I would think they're the ones you want perspective from. The others come and go.

Gameday: Spurs vs. Nuggets (http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/spursworld/2008/12/gameday_spurs_vs_nuggets_1.html)

The Spurs are trying to avoid extending their losing streak to three games when they take on the Nuggets tonight in Denver.

It was just last week the Spurs were in the midst of a four-game win streak - a stretch when they scored at least 94 points in every game and broke 100 two out of four nights.

In the Spurs' last two losses they scored 84 points against the Rockets and 77 against the Pistons. The Spurs had a combined 30 turnovers in those two games, compared to 20 for the Rockets and Pistons combined. Both opponents also shot well against the Spurs - 48.1 percent for the Rockets and 50.0 percent for the Pistons.

The Nuggets have won nine of their last 11 games, including a 91-81 victory over the Spurs on Nov. 19 at the AT&T Center. New Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups had 22 points and six assists. Neither Tony Parker nor Manu Ginobili was active for that game.

Billups is averaging 18.9 points and 7.2 assists in 15 games with the Nuggets. They have won their last three and are coming off a 132-93 thrashing of the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday in Denver.

Here's the latest on the Nuggets:

Chris Dempsey, Denver Post
Of all the people impressed with the Nuggets' play of late, Doug Moe, the franchise's all-time winningest coach, may have the widest smile.
http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_11133266

Benjamin Hochman, Denver Post
As the happy fans headed toward home, the sappy forward headed toward the hometown hero, and, in a scene stolen from a cheesy script, Kenyon Martin told Chauncey Billups on the Pepsi Center court, "I appreciate you being here."
http://www.denverpost.com/commented/ci_11110464?source=commented-nuggets

Paul Willis, Rocky Mountain News
This is how Nene likes it. While the Nuggets' monthlong hot streak has been credited almost solely to the arrival of Chauncey Billups and the improved all-around game of Carmelo Anthony, the Nuggets center quietly is becoming the player they always said he could be.
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/
dec/03/nuggets-nene-an-efficiency-expert/

Paul Willis, Rocky Mountain News
When Chauncey Billups arrived in Denver for his introductory news conference last month, he said he "hadn't dunked in 10 years." Billups admitted after practice Wednesday he "was just playing" with the media back then, and then he explained why he seldom throws it down.

I'm just mad cause the Spurs can't afford any mistakes.

They played a great quarter then leave a guy wide open. I know he doesn't shoot threes, but if you give a guy a wide open look like that he has a chance to make it.

Spurs on their heels now. Nuggets catch up just like that. More lapses to start the second quarter.

Spurs gotta learn it takes consistent effort and now letting up to get a win. For some reason it seems they think their record is 15-2 they way they are playing. Gotta be a LOT more desperate out there and go HARD every minute out there.
