Pop works his teams to peak at the right time, when it matter, going into the playoffs. He is a master at doing just that with his teams. And yet you insult all the "homers" who actually know the rhythm of their team, whilst you display your ignorance.

Does that mean we don't need an athletic big? No. But that doesn't mean this team won't be a helluva lot better as they gel in the second half of the year. The season is only 37 games old for crying out loud!

What are you talking about? We were horrible in Jan (8-8), went 6-3 on the RRT and it brought the team together, then we went 26-10 to finish the year and looked a much better team. I watched 77 games last year, i remember it distinctly.

Yes and no. I've seen them turn it up for short stretches in the 4th to win the game 4 or 5 times this year, but they can't do it at will like they used to. the NBA game has moved on too - the way it's officiated vastly favours the offensive player.

The Philadelphia 76ers led the entire second half, broke 100 with more than five minutes left and overpowered the Spurs 109-87 Friday night.

The Sixers shot an even 50.0 percent for the game and were 8 of 14 from 3-point range. They outrebounded the Spurs 51-40.

Thaddeus Young led the Sixers with 27 points and Andre Iguodala had 21. Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Matt Bonner had 13 points, Tony Parker had 12 and Manu Ginobili. The Big Three all sat out the fourth quarter.

Fans focusing on Tim's D are way off base. Timvp alluded to this in his game thoughts for the lakers. The cohesion between him and Bonner is hardly there. Tim is not the weak link.

Couple that with the lackluster effort on team defense - slow rotations and mental lapses. You get exposed as a team.

OK so Pop is really concerned with the defense. The other day I was reading posters here that were saying Pop is looking more for offense since they had trouble scoring against the Lakers in last seasons playoffs and he's willing to sacrifice some defense for it by having shooters out there that can spread the floor.

I have been saying IMO he wants the D back to where it normally is. One of the best in the Nba. Still when Pop says stuff like that and signs guys like Croshere who aren't known as defenders I am thrown for a loop. I'd love to know what Pop is really trying to do with the team this season. What direction he's trying to take it in.

I think Bonner is playing really well this season too. He's lacking a little on defense and rebounding still. It also seems Tim and Matt have chemistry issues on the defensive end. As well as Bonner is playing offensively can Tim and Bonner work well together on the defensive end?

I get the feeling the spurs signed Croshere to see if he can still play at a level close to Bonner. If thats the case they will trade Bonner while his value is still high at this moment of time. Now is the perfect time to trade Bonner he is I think top 3 in 3pt FG and I don't think it is ever going to get better then that. Shooters are a commodity in this league so there has to be some team with a solid big that needs a shooter in return.
