So questions are when is the earliest I can get into the AT&T Center if the game begins at 8:30. Will be comming in from austin area and want to dodge traffic so will be ariving early, also any bars or resturaunts in the area good to go to before game, how much will I be paying for beers, and finally am I going to have a problem sneaking in a flask? Any help will be appreciated thanks everyone.

Well if ur comin from austin you better leave by before rush hour. Cuz that traffic from austin to san antonio is horrific! I no the at@t center opens pretty early. They have the spur's store so it's open early. Be ready to pay 6 somthin to 7 som. On beer, n the flask jus make sure it's not metal!!!!!!!!

Don't you mean 7:30? The doors opened at 6:30 for us last time and the game was at 7:30. Hope you have a good time. I'd suggest drinking a couple tall boys before the game also.

whoops overlooked the cleveland game time

Normally for regular season games the doors open one hour before game time. I do not know anymore, but it used to be that for late start games like this one at 8:30 PM that the doors would open more than an hour early.

If you're going from Austin on a Friday, try to leave before 3pm--traffic on I-35 gets much worse about then

This is true unless you are in the terrace level boxes. They let those customers in 2 hours before the game (enter in the vip doors).

I think the beers are $7.50 and soft drinks and water are $4.00. They do look inside of purses, and wand folks entering. So it's at your own risk if you try to sneak in a flask. Since you have to leave Austin by 3 ish p.m. on a Friday, you could plan on something fun, even touristy such as going to Market Square and eat at one of the restaurants around there. That's entertaining for a time or two. They will have the "Overtime" after the game tomorrow. Some band plays for a while and they have $3.25 beers but we haven't stayed for any of them. There's no place close to the ATT Center that you would want to eat at IMO.

just wanted to say thanks to you all for the help and advice had a great time even though we didnt play well and tim didnt go at all, still watched every minute and chatted a little with a fellow bartender for a bit at the after party, band was servicable espically considering the level of my intoxication, anyhow heres to the spurs getting healthy seeing a few young guys compete tonight and hopefully turn to solid contributers in the future and another run at a championshipthis year! And big eat my ass to the the shitty Lebron James / cleaveland fan in sec 106 row 34 acting like an ass all night hes lucky my dad was my dd for the night otherwise we would have had words for sure! Rooting for your team fine acting like an asshole all night not ok!

When I leave Austin to go to games I typically leave from 2-2:30, this allows me to miss rush hour traffic in both Austin and San Antonio. It also depends on which side of Austin you leave from. I live in north Austin so it takes me a little while just to get out town even without traffic. My theory is spend less time driving, get there early, have a few drinks, and enjoy the game. :toast
