Don't you mean 7:30? The doors opened at 6:30 for us last time and the game was at 7:30. Hope you have a good time. I'd suggest drinking a couple tall boys before the game also.

whoops overlooked the cleveland game time

Normally for regular season games the doors open one hour before game time. I do not know anymore, but it used to be that for late start games like this one at 8:30 PM that the doors would open more than an hour early.

If you're going from Austin on a Friday, try to leave before 3pm--traffic on I-35 gets much worse about then

This is true unless you are in the terrace level boxes. They let those customers in 2 hours before the game (enter in the vip doors).

I think the beers are $7.50 and soft drinks and water are $4.00. They do look inside of purses, and wand folks entering. So it's at your own risk if you try to sneak in a flask. Since you have to leave Austin by 3 ish p.m. on a Friday, you could plan on something fun, even touristy such as going to Market Square and eat at one of the restaurants around there. That's entertaining for a time or two. They will have the "Overtime" after the game tomorrow. Some band plays for a while and they have $3.25 beers but we haven't stayed for any of them. There's no place close to the ATT Center that you would want to eat at IMO.

When I leave Austin to go to games I typically leave from 2-2:30, this allows me to miss rush hour traffic in both Austin and San Antonio. It also depends on which side of Austin you leave from. I live in north Austin so it takes me a little while just to get out town even without traffic. My theory is spend less time driving, get there early, have a few drinks, and enjoy the game.
