Put Kurt in on defense. He won't allow any quick layups. I can promise you that.

ok let them score a quick one again.....then we inbound it and shoot immediately. they have no timeouts left. they will be down 4 with no chance to win the game.

this was a good win cause we had to grind it out and make clutch FTs.........vital scenario just prior to the playoffs from a confidence standpoint.

I think that depends on what Gooden you get. If it's the one that makes the smart pass to Udoka for a wide open three in the corner i'm all for it. He's a very talented offensive player and can score in a lot of situations. However if its the bad Gooden, the one of dribbles for a couple seconds, posts himself up with the ball and then takes a highly contested off balance fade away jumper then i'd rather he stay on the bench.

There were a couple of plays that made me hopeful tonight that Gooden could turn into a useful addition to the Spurs but equally many were I just shook my head in disgust.

Anyhow, a solid win tonight. Parker took over the game tonight and thats what he needs to do in every close game. Some of the role players stepped up too tonight, mostly Udoka and Finley I thought, and Mason played solid again as well.

17 FTA for TP. :wow It's a career high !
His previous record was 14.
He only made 13 of them though. :p:
His record is 14/14 vs. Boston 03/17/07.

It's not Nelson's fault this time. They're all injured. The story the whole season.

Brandan Wright - shoulder
Monta Ellis - ankle
Stephen Jackon - toe surgery
Jamal Crawford - groin
Corey Maggette - wrist
Jermareo Davidson - stress fracture
Marco Belinelli - ankle

The thing will be if Denver even WANTS to win that game and plays their normal lineup or not.

It's a terrible matchup because of Aldridge, he's like David West to the Spurs - the guy will sodomize any Spur trying to guard him.

EricB

Uh, Duncan would guard him and would defend him well.

Right now Houston's lead is down to 6 over Golden State...

if we were talking about 3 months ago Portland wouldn't be a big deal, but Duncan cannot guard LA with those knees, LA is took quick.

At the end of the day I don't care who they play but they would have terrible match ups with Portland and the Hornets.
