actually a lot of the reviewers that I trust that hated TF2 for the same reasons I did, have given GI Joe much better positive reviews. I'm still going into the movie with low to mix expectations but I tried to give TF2 a chance, mostly because I thought it was going to be a much darker, serious film compared to TF which had too much comedy relief from the parents, yet Bay added more of this so called comedy relief , I mean what was up with those scenes at the college especially with Sam's mom.

One of the main reasons why I have some mixed feeling about the movie when the first trailer hit during the Super Bowl was because they only showed the Joe's in black leather, and I was like "oh no not another X-Men, matrix" type where everyone wears black. Especially since one of the trademarks of the GI: Joe's was that each had their own identity with outfits/uniforms; the only one's that wore black were Snake Eyes and the Baroness. Now with more pictures and tv spots being released showing the Joes wearing more traditional camo and other alternating uniforms, I'm feel better about the movie.

Hell the acting, which some have been worried about especially with one of the Wayans bros, couldn't be any worse then the over acting style of Transformers 2

I'm going to the midnight screening at Regal Live Oak.

I've also heard good things about Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance in the film.

My parents held onto the toys from back in the 80's and I passed them onto my son...he loves them and can't wait to see the movie today.

He's called me four times already at work to try and figure out when I'm rollin.

I also heard reviews where critics said it was better than transformers.

GI Joe was worth it for the 15 min Paris scene. I was laughing at the insanity/awesomeness of it the entire time.

There were some other decent scenes, but that one took the cake.

And yes, the plot holes are pretty huge. :D

Say the movie earlier today and it was pretty AWESOME. There were a few scenes where I though MOUSE could probably act better. But I like how they introduced the characters by going back into their past.

Yeah, I really liked the flashbacks. Usually that kind of thing makes the movie drag but it really added a lot of depth to the movie.

Now, as far as comparing this to Transformers goes, GI Joe has some amazing graphics and is intentionally cartoonish at times. There are cheesy lines here and there but they're pretty intentional. Both Transformers movies are cheesy as hell, but Bay doesn't do that intentionally. See Con Air, The Rock, etc.

I went in not even wanting to see this until I caught a few more trailers online. I'm glad I went though, it was a good summer popcorn flick. Plus, it seems I like any movie with any Wayans Brother in it. It's no X-2 but still pretty good.

Plot was actually pretty good. It's an origin story, so a lot of flashbacks are involved, as some have said, and I personally like that. They're also (most likely) setting up for a sequel, so I can forgive a few of the plot holes.

Iagree...I liked it a lot. Very fast paced and it didn't seem that long because the action was pretty cool.

It felt more like a Halo movie (armored suits, vehicles, weapons) than a GI Joe movie. Duke was so effing miscast. That role called for someone older and distinguished, not some hot head kid right out of the academy. Cool action and effects though...

When I was watching this movie, I was asking myself "did the people that made this movie even watch the cartoon series or play with the toys". Because this movie had very little to do with the cartoon series or toys in my opinion. Why were Duke and Baroness a thing? Cobra Commander did not even look like he did in the cartoon. I liked Transformers 2 eventhough the acting was a little shitty and the story was kinda weak but this movie has to be the worst movie of the year. Rachel Nichols and Sienna Miller wearing tight clothes which showed off their chests and butts could not save this movie. And not even Dennis Quaid was able to save this movie. Star Trek is the best movie of the year. Well, it might be in a tie for first place with Moon in my opinion. And can someone teach Channing Tatum to not talk like a wigger in a movie? Every movie that I've seen him in, he talks like a wigger.

At the end of the movie, I thought of Butthead's quote "this sucks more than anything that has ever sucked before". That quote applied to this movie.

Yeah, the previews didn't help the movie. I guess I was just hoping that the movie would be like the cartoon. I lost a little respect for Dennis Quaid after seeing him in the movie though. I know I said this before but I really wish Channing Tatum could have hidden his "wiggerness" while he was playing Duke. Duke is not suppose to be a wigger.

Thank you, finally someone says Cobra Commander's mask sucked. For a little bit, I thought that Cobra Commander was Dr. Mindbender in the movie because he was acting like a mad scientist and had a glass lense thingy in front of one of his eyes. Joseph Gordon Levitt was good in The Lookout but not this. The Paris scene was probably only the scene in the movie that I liked. Did anyone see any wires in the movie? Some people have told me that they saw wires when they saw this movie.

Rent Milk, Benjamin Buttons or something if you want a creative story line with awesome dialog and great acting. IMHO anyhow.
