I can bring Horry's rebounding rate and scoring, and you can compare. I don't think it's even arguable that he was a better player than Bonner. We can also compare Spurs numbers when Bowen was playing instead of Finley.
I mean, sure, maybe we averaged 10 more point per game, but defense wins championships, and that's not a cliche...
I missed Horry as an option last year

I never claimed we had options last year... you did.
No I didn't.
I said that Bonner should play ahead of lesser options.
This year that includes Ian and Haislip. Given that Ratliff will only play very limited minutes, Bonner will play many more minutes than him.
Like it or not, Bonner is no worse than our 4th best big and he's going to play unless there is a trade or we see some unexpected development from Ian or Haislip.
What I also said is that offhanded remarks made by many here have yet to be substantiated. Remarks like "starting Bonner put us in a hole all the time".
I'd like to someone actually prove it.

We need defense and rebounding out of that spot, and he can't get it done.
I would not even be against throwing Ian out there and see if he can board better (I have little doubt he can, most everyone in our team rebounds more than Bonner).
Obviously, I don't make the personnel decisions, so I fully expect him to play more than Ratliff and Blair... and I'm fully aware of that.
That doesn't mean he doesn't suck and is woefully inadequate to help keeping Duncan fresh out there.

He would be behind Ratliff if Theo could play more than 500 minutes this year, he can't and he won't.
Therefore Bonner is the 4th big until a better option emerges. That guy will total somewhere from 1200-1600 minutes.
You don't have to love Bonner's game, and I most certainly do not, to recognize the above facts of life.
The only plausible reason to sign Haislip, IMO, was a hope that he would make Bonner expendable. Unfortunately, that seems unlikely.
