Pau Gasol's Hamsting injury is still not healed, and Luke Walton will be sidelined for six weeks with a pinched nerve in his back. It would probably take Luke another 2-3 weeks to get back in basketball shape and to find his rhythm on the court. The Lakers will need a body to come off the bench until maybe sometime after the all-star break in February. Who should the Lakers pick up?
Los Angeles Times Lakers Blogger Brian Kamenetzky feels that 35 year-old Jerry Stackhouse would be a perfect fit for the defending champs.
"I would LOVE to be out there," Stackhouse said...
Kobe's got a gamesmanship about him, he knows how guys look at him in awe. I've seen several times when he came over to the bench where I was and would not say anything to anybody on the whole bench, but then he'd look at me and say, 'What up Stack?' So there's a respect there both ways, I believe."
Yesterday, Ken Berger from CBS Sports speculated on A.I going to the Lakers, (http://ken-berger.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/11838893/18362738?source=rss_blogs_NBA) "What if the stars aligned for Iverson and Kobe Bryant, who came into the league together and dueled famously in that All-Star rookie game, to go out together, too?"
"I'm not saying it's likely, or any more likely than another scenario that might present itself. But Iverson playing with Kobe and Ron Artest? Iverson being coached by Phil Jackson? Who among us wouldn't want to see that happen? Count me in. And in the meantime, don't hold your breath waiting for another team to make the same mistake Memphis made."
Personally, I'd like to see the Lakers pick up both players...But that's just my opinion...
