Dana said via Ultimate Insider if GSP beats Shields then he will fight Anderson either late this year or early next year. Question is how many times will Silva fight again before then and will it be for the MW title? I dont think Anderson can cut anymore

If I had any money, I would bet it all on GSP. If you would like a sig bet, or something like that, I'd be more than happy to see you sporting a picture of two guys blowing eachother.

Nomatter who wins i think GSP/Silva would be the first real cross-over mega-fight in MMA history. We have had big ones before but i think this would be on the level of a Hagler/Sugar Ray, Ali/Frazier..
It is that big.. With a nice card around it, the fight should do 2 million buys.. So really nomatter who wins, the sport of MMA likely comes out the victor..

UFC Welterweight Ricardo Almeida Announces His Retirement from MMA
During these almost four years it has been a personal struggle to find balance between my fighting career, caring for my son who was diagnosed with Autism soon after I signed a six-fight deal with the UFC, teaching at my growing Jiu-Jitsu academy and the family duties we all have.
MMA is a great sport but also physically and mentally unforgiving. It is a dangerous task to step in the Octagon, (e)specially if your focus is not at 100%.

Gina Carano Leaves Xtreme Couture For Team
As announced by Strikeforce during their Fedor vs. Silva live broadcast, the face of woman’s MMA, Gina “Conviction” Carano, is expected to make her return to action this summer.
The speculated date for her return is June 18th when the promotion heads to her home state of Texas for the second round of the Heavyweight Grand Prix.
Posting only one defeat, Carano, had been thought at one point to be an unstoppable force in the female division of Mixed Martial Arts. However, a loss to current champ, “Cyborg”, sent her packing to the movie sets where she has spent the better part of the last 2 years.
With her return on the horizon, the fan favorite Carano has left her training home in Las Vegas Nevada and moved to Team Jackson to enlist the help of Greg Jackson and his renowned team of trainers and fighters.
There is no current reason given as to why she has opted to change camps, but if we are to speculate, it could be to brush up on her ground skills in an effort to maybe reach title contention and take the Brazilian Cyborg out in an area where she not be so dominant.
We will keep you updated as more information becomes available on this sudden move of camps and Gina’s return to action.http://www.bjpenn.com/profiles/blogs/gina-carano-leaves-xtreme?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+bjpenndotcom+%28BJPENN.COM+NE WS+BLOGS%29&utm_content=FaceBook

what a sub by Aoki just now!!!
Gegard Mousasi vs. Keith Jardine up next, interesting to see how the reinvented Jardine looks
Great battle, Jardine had more takedowns but didn't do anything with them, Mousasi showed his excellent striking. The final 2 founds were dominated by Mousasi but Jardine almost pulled off a "Silva" with 10 sec left but couldn't get the sub attempt in tight enough.
Jardine was definitely tired from the short notice taking this fight
Going to a decision....Judges score it 29-27, 28-28, 28-28 majority draw. Mousasi probably should have won but he got a 1 pt taken away for an illegal up kick on the ground.
Strikeforce lightweight title bout up next, Gilbert Melendez vs Tatsuya Kawajiri.
Gilbert annihilated Kawa from the get go, ref stoppage in the 1st. When asked who he wants to face next , his answer "time to unify the belt, I'm the best LW in the world"
Diaz vs Daley up now
Probably one of the best rounds of the year. The finish came right before the bell: 4:57 of R1 Diaz wins by ref stoppage. Not sure if it was a good stoppage because it looked like Daley was defending with his legs, keeping Diaz away, but you could tell the left hand (which you barely saw, just Daley going to the ground) did rock Daley when he fell.
Diaz proved again he has a great chin.
Overall a good card
Stringer_Bell

Good card.
Melendez could definately give Edgar some problems, but I see him having a tougher time with Maynard match-up wise even though I think Edgar is the best out of the three.
I was so sure that the ref was going to call the fight off the 2nd time Diaz got rocked and fell, but he let it go and stopped it premature with 3 seconds left. Daley fell over from exhaustion but was able to defend himself intelligently with his feet and his eyes weren't wobbly. The Diaz Bros are a different breed of fighter, I'd like to see either of them against Kampmann or Condit.

Yeah when I saw Diaz fall, I was like "fights over" (because of how he fell). But you could tell the ref gave him time to recover.
Would have been nice for the fight to go to a 2nd round.

This could be a sign GSP is going up soon since he and Nate are pals..
Nate Marquardt, Anthony Johnson set
Former UFC middleweight contender Nate Marquardt's next fight will be as a welterweight.
The UFC announced Wednesday that Marquardt and Anthony Johnson have verbally agreed to meet at UFC on Versus 4 on June 26 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
The bout will headline the event.
Marquardt (31-10) makes the move down in weight despite posting a decision win over Dan Miller in his most recent right in March. His entire UFC career, dating back to 2005, has been contested at 185 pounds. He fought for the middleweight title once, dropping a first-round TKO loss to Anderson Silva in 2007.
The 31-year-old is 2-2 since the start of 2010. Both losses came with a title shot on the line.
Johnson (9-3) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dan Hardy in the co-main event of last month's UFC Fight Night 24 card in Seattle. It was his first test since returning from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for all of 2010.

This could be a sign GSP is going up soon since he and Nate are pals..
Marquardt's move to 170 was St. Pierre's idea
Soon to be UFC welterweight Nate Marquardt has done his best to deflect questions on whether or not he'd ever fight current 170-pound champion Georges St. Pierre, a teammate and close friend of his.
He has revealed, however, that it was St. Pierre's idea that he move down a weight class. The Canadian star offered the advice the last time Marquardt was in Montreal, helping him prepare for a title defense against Josh Koscheck at UFC 124.
"Actually, he brought it up me," Marquardt told ESPN.com. "He asked me what I was walking around at and said, 'Wow. You should drop to 170.'
"I was like, 'I don't know. You're the champion there. I want to be a champion.' He told me not to worry about it, that if that's what is best for me I have to do it. I didn't even think about it until he said it. Once I went back to my own camp, it made sense to me."
Marquardt (31-10-2), based in Denver, said he was walking around at 191 pounds prior to his recent fight against Dan Miller in March. St. Pierre is known for walking around at a similar weight between fights.
In late March, it was announced Jon Fitch had pulled out of a July fight against B.J. Penn due to injury. Marquardt expressed his interest to the UFC to fill in for Fitch and make his welterweight debut.
The UFC instead announced he would meet Anthony Johnson in the main event at UFC on Versus 4, scheduled for June 26 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
Technically, it will be the first time Marquardt has fought at 170 pounds; however the 12-year veteran says he began his career fighting at 155.
"When I started my career I was a lightweight," Marquardt said. "Over the years, I put on weight. When I started fighting for the Pancrase middleweight division, it was at something like 181 pounds and I was under that weight."
Marquardt is not expecting a difficult cut to 170. He plans to be conservative and begin dieting within the next two weeks. He intends to target a cut of eight or nine pounds on the day of weigh-ins.
"I know what I'm doing," Marquardt said. "I've been fighting professionally for years. I've fought in Japan before, cutting anywhere from zero to 14 pounds in one day. I know how to do it and I have a lot of guys around me who know how to do it."
In regards to someday fighting St. Pierre, Marquardt continues to remain vague in his public statements. He does, however, believe his teammate is headed toward a fight with middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva.
"Honestly, I'm not thinking about it and if it's ever an issue I'll deal with it then," Marquardt said. "I don't know if [St. Pierre] is planning on moving up but I definitely know he's considering fighting Anderson. I think that's a great fight and I think he has the perfect style to beat a guy like Silva."

Jason 'Mayhem' Miller Signs With UFC
Jason "Mayhem" Miller is going back to the UFC.
The popular middleweight has signed a new multi-fight agreement with the organization, Miller's manager Ryan Parsons confirmed with MMA Fighting.
The 30-year-old Miller (24-7, 1 NC) was able to sign with the UFC due to the fact that his contract with Strikeforce had expired. No word just yet on when his first fight back inside the Octagon will take place.

Matt Hughes, Diego Sanchez to meet
Matt Hughes and Diego Sanchez have verbally agreed to compete for the first time, the UFC revealed Thursday.
The welterweights, two of the best-known mixed martial artists on the organization's roster, are set to fight on a yet-to-be determined date and card slated for this fall, according to an announcement on UFC.com.
Hughes, a multiple-time champion at 170 pounds who -- prior the rise of Georges St. Pierre -- was considered the best fighter ever to compete at that weight, told ESPN.com in January he intended to fulfill the final bout on his current contract with the UFC by the end of 2011 and was unsure if he would enter into a new contract. The 37-year-old fighter is coming off a 21-second knockout loss to B.J. Penn last November.
Hughes (45-8) has openly contemplated retirement for several years.
Sanchez, 29, has considered Hughes an idol. But he also has expressed his desire to be the one who sends the former champion into the next phase of his life away from MMA competition.
Having dabbled at lightweight and having received a quick and failed shot at the belt against Penn in 2009, Sanchez unceremoniously returned to welterweight in May 2010, losing on points to John Hathaway.
However Sanchez (23-4) has won his past two bouts -- decisions over Paulo Thiago and, in March, over Martin Kampmann in a highly competitive tilt.
The Hughes-Sanchez announcement appears to put to rest any discussion of a rematch between Hughes and Royce Gracie for UFC's Aug. 27 card in Rio de Janiero. Gracie, who was stopped by punches in the opening period of their bout in 2006, had been lobbying for the fight.

Versus does as well as HD NET. UFC does a fight night on Spike for free a few times a year the Ultimate Fighter Finale will be free coming up on June 4th, on Spike. Any big UFC event is PPV and they are shooting themselves in the foot as it keeps going up. I have Cablevision and was paying 45 bucks for like 2 years now it is up to 55 bucks and if i wanna switch to FIOS it is 60 bucks. You can order through UFC.com to your computer and plug into your TV with an HDMI cable though and that is still 45 bucks. I did that for the last event.. Most fights can be found next day on MMA Core.com or if you can find a stream. Streaming i find annoying but use it sometimes..

Personally don't like the thought of him dropping out of the GP. As long as it gets settled in a timely manner, I would love to see him finish it out. There are still some intriguing match ups that can come from it, the already scheduled Werdum/Reem being one of them. A rubber match with Kharitonov would also be great, especially since Sergei was the last man to beat him. Overeem/Barnett & Overeem/Big Foot are both high level match ups that would be on par with any HW fight he can get in the UFC outside of Cain/Dos Santos(Yes, I think he destroys Lesnar very easily).

So many injuries - gotdayumn!
Anyway. I was on KSW - an mma promotion that is great known in Poland. Now almost everybody knows it because of one man. Mariusz Pudzianowski.
So now everybody at work was talking about it. My mom was talking about it.
That's how big marketing machine Pudzian is.
All in all KSW used it and gets profits.
You can see the fights on this site. I only recomand the bouts of Pudzianowski and Khalidov for you.
http://www.mmavideos.pl/
If you cannot do it from this site you can also go on a 'core'
The show was really good and few fights were goos as well. :tu
Pudzianowski fight was the one everybody was waiting for. and the crowed get a new life when Pudzianowski came into the ring.
You could see him being better in boxing technique and wrestling. Also he is so hard worker that he was working all the time on his condition wanting to have a cardio for 3 rounds. Anyway in this bout again he could not pace himself and as a result he gassed again. he probably though that his all work in a preparation was enough but wasn't. I think everybody in a the arena knew when he came to the 2nd round that it's over.
And it was.
He knew he is new to this sport and he knows he wants to do something really hard. Not only he needed to learn the technique and use it effective in this body. He also needed to rearrange his body and rearrange the muscle cells. Also this amount of the muscles needs to much of oxygen ...
All in all he will probably go and fight few more fights cause he earns a lot of money and he is a professional and ambitious sportsman. The fight was fun.
Khalidov fight was quick. I expected to be it more competitive. But yet again if Khalidov was unable to beat Lindland in a good fashion way it would be a shame.
mamed not must to have a better competition. He has propositions from Bellator but he wants to fight in Poland. He feels polish and all that national stuff. But IMO Bellator is the promotion that can level him up and even put himself in a position to try his chanced in the UFC.
All in all Brian Stann is fighting a guy now Khalidov have beaten once.
I will post some pics later

Keith Jardine Dropping to Middleweight, Wants Cung Le
Former UFC and current Strikeforce fighter Keith Jardine is dropping to middleweight, and he has one name on his mind for a debut fight at 185 - former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le. Le has been campaigning for a fight in the UFC, but Jardine wants to duke it out in a Strikeforce cage. He had a lot to say to MMA Weekly about Le:
"Just looking out there, they need to get a fight for me, and it needs to be a big named guy, I want it to be a big named guy. Looking at Strikeforce seeing who they’ve got and there’s not much bigger than Cung Le. I thought that would be a great match-up."
...
"He’s a stand-up fighter. Mousasi doesn’t count cause I had 8 days to train for that, but I want to fight a stand-up fighter, I’ve mostly been fighting wrestler/brawler types. I think it would be a real fun fight," said Jardine.
"Just to face a guy that you don’t really have to worry about the takedown that much, he’s just going to go in and throw a lot of kicks, and throw a lot of bombs, it just makes for a fun fight for me. A lot of my past few fights are punch, punch, defend the takedown. Sprawl and brawl."
The news that Jardine was dropping to MW completely escaped me in the first place, so this is quite interesting. Still though, it seems to me that despite what Scott Coker says, it's highly unlikely we'll be seeing Cung Le in a Strikeforce cage any time soon. So Jardine will have to look for another middleweight to tangle with. If he wants a standup fight, how about Robbie Lawler for instance?

Fedor to keep fighting
Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko doesn't want to go out with a loss.
Emelianenko, recently shed from Zuffa's roster after suffering his third consecutive defeat, will fight again, management company M-1 Global announced Monday. Officials hope to hold the bout in Moscow or St. Petersburg in the fall, M-1 said.
"We consulted with Fedor and it was decided that he should not leave the sport in this way," said Vadim Finkelstein, M-1 Global president. "His friends and past opponents support Fedor in continuing his career and he agreed."
An opponent will be determined later, Finkelstein said.
After years as the consensus No. 1 heavyweight in mixed martial arts, Emelianenko has seen his fortunes spiral downward in Strikeforce since his last win, in November 2009. He mulled retirement after Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva defeated him in February, but decided to return for a July 30 fight with the much smaller Dan Henderson.
Strikeforce released Emelianenko after Henderson knocked him out. But Emelianenko has a contract with the Showtime network, which also carries M-1 events.
M-1 also hopes to feature Emelianenko on a Dec. 31 card in Japan. New Year's Eve traditionally is the biggest night of the year for the Japanese MMA industry.

What an idiot..
http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/8/19/2372583/ufc-mma-news-jason-mayhem-miller-arrested-simple-assault
There's been a lot of spectacular athlete arrests over the years. Louisiana police apprehended Leon Lett with over 175 pounds of marijuana in his truck. Plaxico Burress shot himself in a nightclub. MMA's own Quinton Jackson sped through Orange County hopped up on energy drinks and one hell of a religious experience, living up to his "Rampage" moniker in a monster truck.
And now we can add Jason Miller to that list...for putting his sister in a prolonged headlock. TMZ, of course, reports:
Law enforcement tells TMZ, Miller and his sis were at some house party in North Carolina -- when his sister decided she wanted to take off.
According to law enforcement, Jason's sister claims he wouldn't let her leave -- and put her into a headlock.
We're told Jason's sister managed to escape and notified the Chatham County Sheriff -- who had Jason arrested later that evening for simple assault and false imprisonment.
Jason has since posted bail and been released. Several calls to both Jason and his sister were not returned.
Michael David Smith of MMA Fighting reports that Miller was released under a $5,000 secured bond.
This is not Miller's first run in with the law. In 2006, he was accused, and later acquitted, of kicking in a locked door at his girlfriend's apartment and assaulting a man inside.
Miller found himself the victim of assault in April of 2010 when the Cesar Gracie camp took offense and put the boots to Miller for entering the cage following Jake Shields' victory over Dan Henderson. No charges were filed, though the principals, including Miller were fined up to $7,500 and suspended for three months by the Tennessee Athletic Commission.
Along with Michael Bisping, Miller will appear as a coach on the Ultimate Fighter 14, which wrapped up shooting in July. The two coaches will fight at the show's live finale on December 3.

1. Overeem vs Lesnar is a possibility
2. Likes the idea of Tito vs Franklin next
3. Silva won't be on the Fox card but will be watching the Rio card carefully for one of the fights on that card.

Joseph Hyungmin Son, 40, who played Dr. Evil's sidekick "Random Task" in the first "Austin Powers" movie, was convicted of torture last week in connection with the 1990 abduction and gang rape of a 20-year-old California woman.
The Orange County woman was walking her dog on Christmas Eve and looking at holiday lights in the neighborhood when she was snatched off the street and attacked, KTLA reported.
Son was accused along with one other suspect of holding the victim at gun point and raping her numerous times as well as sexually assaulting her with the weapon.
The victim's lawyer claimed the assailants then released the woman naked with her pants tied around her eyes.
Son wasn't arrested in connection with the crime until 18 years after the incident.
In 2008, after violating probation on vandalism charge, he was charged with numerous counts of assault when his DNA was found to match a sample from the victim.
Many of those charges were ultimately dropped due to the amount of time that had elapsed since the alleged incident, KTLA reported.
Son is slated to be sentenced on September 19, and faces 15 years to life in prison.

Spike.com to stream all Bellator preliminary-card fights beginning with Bellator 49
In a welcomed move that's sure to spark lots of speculation, Bellator Fighting Championships today announced its preliminary-card fights now will stream live and for free on Spike.com.
The two-hour streams, which kick off each Saturday at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT), begin with this week's Bellator 49 event.
Spike TV officials today confirmed the plans with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
"Fight fans have been coming to our site for years for great mixed martial arts clips and information," stated Erik Flannigan, Executive Vice President, Digital Entertainment, MTV Networks Entertainment Group. "Now we are thrilled to provide them with action-packed live fighting each week."
Bellator's main cards currently air on MTV2 (and in high-definition on EPIX), which are both owned by Viacom, which also operates Spike TV. The UFC's live broadcasts on Spike TV end this year. However, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney has continually stated that his organization is committed to MTV2 and has made no suggestions the promotion could love to Spike TV.
Still, today's announcement is sure to raise eyebrows.
"We are thrilled to join forces with Spike.com," Rebney stated. "The Spike brand is synonymous with mixed martial arts worldwide and is another member of the MTV family, who does an incredible job in resonating with the hard-to-reach 18-to-34-year-old male audience."
Spike.com never previously has streamed live MMA fights.

Hendo wants both UFC, Strikeforce
All the buzz coming out of Dan Henderson's camp has been that he is UFC-bound and would like to unify the 205-pound belts against Jon Jones. Yet, Henderson himself hasn't been contributing to these reports.
In fact, he says if he had it his way, he'd defend his light heavyweight title in Strikeforce and fight in the UFC, interchangeably. Speaking to Clinch Gear Radio this week, he broke it down.
"I definitely feel that there's still the possibility for me to defend that belt in Strikforce, but I think now that the UFC has bought Strikeforce and they need to make money and I need to make money, so we'll see what happens," he said. "I'd like to work out a deal where I'm fighting in both promotions...I'm sure we'll figure out a deal within the next month, two weeks. I would love to be able to fight in the UFC and defend my belt in Strikeforce."
He also went on to say that the Anderson Silva loss at UFC 82 was the one that stuck in his craw the most. "Probably," he said. "Especially the way [Silva] fights most the time. He's disrespectful to his opponents and the fans at the same time."
Whether a deal like that can be worked out or not depends on what Zuffa's big picture plans on for Strikeforce. The writing appears to be on the wall that Strikeforce isn't overly interested in having traditional champions and defenses the way the UFC operates. Right now there is a vacant welterweight and heavyweight title, and a Henderson's is currently in limbo as he negotiates. Besides that, outside of Muhammed Lawal, there aren't a lot of vastly intriguing challenges for Henderson in Strikeforce. However, he has plenty of options in the UFC, with potential fights against Silva for the middleweight strap, Quinton Jackson (who beat him for the 205-belt in 2007), Mauricio Rua and Jones. Zuffa has stated that the Nick Diaz deal they worked out several months ago allows him to fight in both the UFC and Strikeforce, so maybe it's possible they could give Henderson a similar clause in his contract.

Bellator champ Hector Lombard willing to move to 205 pounds for "Babalu" fight
As far as Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard (30-2-1 MMA, 7-0 BFC) understood it, Renato "Babalu" Sobral (36-9 MMA, 0-0 BFC) wanted to fight him at 205 pounds.
Whether or not that's the case, Lombard told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) he's up for the challenge.
Apparently, so, too, is Bellator CEO and chairman and Bjorn Rebney, who hopes to book the non-title fight for a Nov. 19 Bellator 58 event in Hollywood, Fla.
"I got a call from Bjorn ... and he talked to me about the situation that 'Babalu' wanted to fight me," Lombard told MMAjunkie.com on Friday night. "He wanted the fight at 205 pounds."
The Cuban-Australian judoka considers himself a smaller middleweight, and he hasn't competed at light heavyweight in more than five years. But the fighter, whom Rebney has said even expressed interest in fighting at 170 pounds, said he is willing to move up for Sobral, a former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion who's long competed at 205 pounds.
Lombard, though, isn't sure why Sobral hasn't officially accepted the fight. MMAjunkie.com could not immediately reach the Brazilian's representatives for comment.
Rebney today said that Sobral's team initially pursued the fight aggressively. The fight executive said he agreed to all their demands: the fight taking place at 205 pounds, the compensation for the bout, and the amount of time for a two-month camp.
"I've been a big 'Babalu' fan for a lot of years," Rebney said. "They weren't really on our radar, but then they reached out to us and opened the door and asked for a few things. We agreed to all of them. ... But now we're siting back and waiting.
"We haven't heard anything back from them ... in three or four days."
Lobard is getting anxious, as well.
"I said, 'I'm here to fight. Let's just make the fight happen as soon as possible,'" he said. "It wouldn't be one of the easiest fights of my career. But he's got a good name."
He said he's now just waiting for his would-be opponent to green light it.
Such a fight would be a major coup for Bellator. The organization has a policy that only tournament winners get title shots, and currently, no tourney champions are on deck for Lombard, who's the top-ranked 185-pounder not under contract to the UFC or Strikeforce. As in past seasons, officials then book their titleholders for non-title "super fights" to keep them active.
But the middleweight division hasn't exactly produced big-name opponents for Lombard's bouts. After winning the season-one tournament, Lombard has defeated Jay Silva (a late replacement for MIA Paulo Filho), NFL vet Herbert "Whisper" Goodman and veteran Falaniko Vitale in non-title fights.
Although Sobral hasn't fought since a December Strikeforce loss to Dan Henderson, he would be a credible threat to Lombard. And that's been the biggest complaint about Lombard, whose current 24-fight win streak features many solid opponents but few households names.

The union also created online petition for people offended by the conduct to "ask FOX to drop the UFC." This union/UFC fight will get ugly.

This all stems from the ongoing battle over unionizing workers in Las Vegas casinos owned by Lorenzo & Frank Fertitta (UFC majority owners).

Just finished watching the fight, Fedor won unanimous decision; not saying Fedor is back; but the one thing I wanted to see from him (not rushing in throwing crazy punches all the time) I got. He fought a very strategic gameplan. Struck from the outside, anytime the fight went to the ground, he would get right back up. Part of the fight was basically Overeem vs Werdum; because Monson would try to trick Fedor to the ground by falling to his back after any punch.
If Fedor can use this type of gameplan from now on and be patient, he still has a couple more fights in him. Not sure what his plans are career wise, but hopefully he fights again.

He prob gonna fight a 2nd leaguers in Russia 2 more yrs and that's it

Khalidov needs to go to USA and fight for Bellator for example. He is capable top15 MW in the world. In KSW he will always stay as a local /europe/ hero.
Pudzianowski does his job. He already forgot about JT fight and thinks about training.
He had some session with Emelianenko bros and now he is gonna train mostly at ATT.
Good for him. At least now he had /was prepared/ oxygen for 3 rounds!
I hope he will be able to fight non-freak guy next year.

He just knocked that guy senseless in less than one round. He has certainly lost a step or two, but he looks far from done. I compare this to watching Coleman, Shamrock, and Lidell. If he is comfortable fighting cans the next few years that's fine but it's pathetic given his legacy at one time in the sport. Brock just retired after losing to Overeem who Fedor ducked when he got called out.. Fedor first would not fight top competition and now he can't since he is barred from Zuffa.. Now he is fine fighting fighters who's profile you might not be able to find on wikipedia.. Shitty way to end a career if you ask me..

The ESPN piece was not bad.. They never accused the UFC of lowballing these guys and they documented the pay structure by comparison to the NFL and other major sports. They also said flat out some boxers at the low level make even less than UFC pre-lim fighters. The UFC does not help their cause when they ban fighters from talking to anyone about their pay and then refuse to tell you exactly what the pay is. ESPN is not wrong for questioning the actual pay when Lorenzo in the interview refuses to offer up specifics. Why is the UFC so fuckin sensative with some shit?

Sometimes I think Dana is a complete hack and a moron. Other times, like in the video above, he's my favorite person of all time. THAT was an awesome rant.

Everybody in the martial arts world has heard of a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a black belt in Judo, a black belt in karate, and on down the line of traditional martial arts.
But with mixed martial arts becoming one of the most popular sports on a worldwide level, what about a belt system for those that simply do MMA?
Well, the team at Jackson’s MMA has introduced a new belt system specifically gauged around MMA training, with a belt levels ranging all the way from white belt to black belt, all under the instruction of head trainer Greg Jackson.
“It took us a long time to develop it. It basically takes everything from his books and in the gym into one system, and basically Greg wrote the new curriculum, so there’s actually a legitimate MMA belt system. We’re already testing on it at Jackson’s Martial Arts and Fitness Academy, and it’s working beautifully,” said Ricky Kottenstette, gym manager at Jackson’s in Albuquerque, N.M.
For years, Jackson had his own hybrid style of martial arts he dubbed Gaidojutsu that he taught to his fighters.
Now with Century MMA on board as a partner, Jackson has a new belt system specifically geared towards MMA. The system will work no differently than a belt graduation and acceleration program for any other martial art.
The Jackson’s MMA belts will be taught in all of the New Mexico based gyms, but it’s not only for fighters, it also applies to any students simply looking to learn mixed martial arts for fun or sport.
“This is Greg Jackson’s belt. I mean his style has his own deal, he had his own name for it, but we just kind of switched it to Jackson’s MMA,” said Kottenstette. “This is a Jackson’s MMA belt. You have jiu-jitsu, judo, and all the other forms, but Greg’s system is very effective and this is just sort of the premier testing platform for a belt system, that has guidelines all the way to the top, all the way to black belts.”
Prior to this new belt system being introduced, many of Jackson’s top students had earned black belt honors. Keith Jardine, Joey Villasenor, Georges St-Pierre, and new head instructor at the recently opened second Jackson’s academy, John Dodson, lead the way.
The key to this new system is that it allows not only fighters, but anybody that’s interested in learning the Jackson’s MMA system, whether you intend on ever actually stepping foot in a cage or not.
“You don’t have to get into the UFC Octagon to prove it and be a contender like most of the other guys did growing up,” Kottestette stated. “This is our opportunity to help people learn all of Greg’s system and learn his techniques, and he does the actual belt testing. So when student’s test, they test with Greg Jackson; so he does all the belt graduations.”
The Jackson’s MMA belts are already being taught in the different academies in New Mexico, with a new gym currently in the planning stages as well.

Khalidov just won another fight with ease.
he KO'ed Rodney Wallace, and I assume he will get the proposition from UFC and he better takes it!
I'm sick of him not wanting to go outside Poland.
He can't just kick the cans when he is good enough to fight in UFC

TUF done with live format.. Always hated the concept..
Though UFC president Dana White said he loves the live version of "The Ultimate Fighter," the reality series will return to a taped format for its next season, he told Yahoo! Sports on Tuesday.
...
...for the first time ever, the fights were live instead of taped. That led to some time overruns and an inability to develop story lines introducing the audience to the fighters.
The show will remain on Friday at 10 p.m. ET on FX, though White said if "this next season isn't up to the standards I expect, they promised me we can move it to Tuesday or Wednesday." He said casting for Season 16 would begin in three weeks and will debut in September. Season 2 on FX will feature welterweight fighters.
