View Full Version : Big Twelve Championship Game: Texas (3) VS Nebraska (22) at The Death Star

I hear they only sell beer in the rich club 200 sections. Hopefully this is not the case.
Texas 24
Nebraska 14
This is not going to be as easy as we think. Nebraska fans travel well, and are very dedicated. The new stadium will be at least 34% red.
Go horns.

I just can't see Nebraska's lousy offense generating any kind of points against UT's rested defense.

If the huskers win this game....bcs maylay will ensue....would love for that to happen, but I dont see them getting past the cows' D.
If Suh hammers McCoy, who knows what will happen. Damn Suh is a beast!

Mack Brown went on record reiterating his dislike of the big twelve championship game. He says most coaches don't like it. But it generates $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ so will always be a staple.
Seriously though, punk ass poser teams like Ohio fucking State, who are pure pure dildo shadows of themselves get an automatic BCS bid, without actually having to prove it amongst their peers.
Sad.
Thats why, even though I hate the SEC bull shit, I still respect the SEC champion, and never would EVER call them overrated. Like i would a pac10 or big10 champ.

I never said they were better than Suh. I have seen enough to know that this D is capable of doing what Nebraska did or even be more dominant. omg what an amazing game. That field goal looked money in person so much more....watching it on TV I had no idea it was that close!
What a great great fucking game. This is what football is all about. Suh is such an amazing player, every time Nebraska made a tackle it seemed like he made it, and the entire nebraska corner would yell "SUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH!!!!"
Crazy ass fuckin game, we did not capitalize on ONE forced turnover.
Our kickoff coverage again came close to kicking our national title hopes in the balls.
I'm sticking up for Colt on this one. Definitely was not a Heisman performance by any means, but only one of those interceptions was his fault...the second one into double coverage. The first was totally sooner-esque random, and the last was Dan Buckner being so much of a pussy that he cannot fall down with the ball already in his hands. I mean what the fuck do you people expect out of any quarterback when his offensive line is getting beaten down to their asses every play? The two or three plays he had good pass protection, his receivers were on lock. The only pure mistakes Colt made was constantly bootlegging out of the pocket and expecting to make plays on the run. Every time he did this he was sacked for a loss. Just throw the damn ball away dude!
Also, had James Kirkendoll simply caught a ball perfectly placed in his gigantic catcher-mitt hands, we would have had the game wrapped up in the third quarter, and Colt woulda had another TD to help his Heisman chances. After that drop, I knew it was going to come down to whoever had the ball last.
One thing about Texas that makes us suck donkey balls right now: Special teams.
The defense came to play tonight, was incredible. I don't give a fuck what you say about the Nebraska offense, our defense was incredible.
BOTH offenses got completely shut down because they had absolutely no ability to control the line of scrimmage.
But the special teams is what fucked us, shot us in the foot, and almost made us lose this game. We started out being a potent scoring threat on special teams...and have slowly turned into a total non-MOVE THE FUCKING BALL threat, whilst also giving up mad fucking yards on every fucking punt and kickoff. Sad.
Nebraska outplayed us tonight. They deserved to win. But we somehow pulled it out. Hunter Lawrence just became a UT god. He deserves the Groza. I had no idea that kick was a 46 yarder. Good lord. I think he has missed two, maybe three all year. And one was into the wind from the 50 yard line against UTEP. Somehow, someway, this team pulled out the win. And that's what great teams always do.
Let's just hope that fucking special teams bull shit gets fixed, good thing we have a whole month to sort that shit out.
Hook 'em.
Hopefully when Muschamp takes over he shitcans Davis and moves Applewhite to OC.
Davis fucked up almost the whole game.
Shit. It was penalties that put Texas in FG range at the end, not the offense. If Nebraska didn't kick off out of bounds they probably would have won.

Sometimes you need luck to win games. It HAPPENS to everybody. Bama got lucky as shit against Tennessee. They nearly choked that game away and a block saved their season. Luck is part of the game. We will see next month if Texas sorts out their flaws.

Held on to the ball? Where did u want him to throw it? He was buying time waiting for his receivers to clear coverage but they didn't. Nothing he could do there. The main thing was allowing them to get away with playing 7 DBs without running over them on the ground. If the oline does it's job, gets nasty, and blows just 4 linemen off the ball for 5 to 10 yrd gains repeatedly then they have to abandon that defense and bring in linebackers.
Two problems - oline not blowing them off the line with that setup and Davis not running Cobb in, lining up in a power I and plowing into a defense playing 7 DBs with only 4 lineman.

If the oline does it's job, gets nasty, and blows just 4 linemen off the ball for 5 to 10 yrd gains repeatedly then they have to abandon that defense and bring in linebackers.
Two problems - oline not blowing them off the line with that setup and Davis not running Cobb in, lining up in a power I and plowing into a defense playing 7 DBs with only 4 lineman.
to me, he looked like he was rattled, like vs A&M after K-State knocked him silly. went down when he could have thrown it away, and was jittery in the few good pockets he had, and then made a lot of really inaccurate passes. but you are right, how Davis could not come up with a better game plan than chop blocking Suh on the first series is beyond me.

They're a good team...but I still have my doubts if Texas is even the best team in their own state
And they still might have enough to win it all. Says something about this great state, doesn't it?

Yes..but it also point how corrupted this current system is
Which, until further notice, won't change due to making $$$
It's a deadhorse but it is also responsible for killing some of the enjoyment I used to have with College Football
No way TCU is better than Texas...this happens every year...some smaller school thinks they belong. Truth is, they haven't played the right schedule to get there...if TCU played Texas, the Horns would win.

who the fuck did texas beat this year? 4 garbage OOC opponents, a down, injured OU team... and then a sea of mediocrity/shit.

First off, the OOC schedule wasn't their fault..they scheduled Arkansas, but Arkansas backed out. As bad of a schedule as Texas played, TCU's was worse, because of their conference.

For some reason every time we play Nebraska it always comes down to the wire no matter which team is favored by what. The James Brown 4th down pass that beat the heavily favored huskers, the Ryan Bailey in the snow game that beat them in Lincoln, and last night. Just that kind of rivalry.

How many people here actually saw the James Brown pass in the big 12 title game from Kansas city? I bet a lot of u kids were too young for that one, that was a fucking awesome game.
Or how about Peter Gardere and the Cash twins dominating OU?

Gardere and his 6.5 40 streaking down the middle of the field for a TD

i expect him not to throw 3 interceptions and keep taking sacks over and over again
if colt has one standout talent its a quick release, he could have thrown about 8 sacks and ints out of bounds
Dude his first interception was sheer chance. It happens. His second was entirely his fault. His third was Dan Buckner not being able to just fall down without a Cornhusker stripping him before his knee hit the ground. Nothing to do with Colt.
Over half of the sacks Colt took were because Nebraska completely liquified our entire front five. He had like half a second to make a decision, at least he did not fumble while taking his sack. Colt took some brutal ass fucking hits in this game, and he did not fumble once. Give him credit for that.
The main thing he did that kept shooting us was bootlegging out of the pocket and not throwing it away...the couple of sacks and running out of bounds because of this were his chief mistakes last night.
Not a hesiman performance in the least but he played solid.

Also, even though i hate using the phrase, Colt's two pooch punts in the second half were the best punts we had all night, and pinned nebraska into horrible field position. In this game field position was everything and he came through with two great kicks.
