Here's my thing...Texas is going to have hell against Bama...it may be a win, could be a loss..who knows. I will say a couple of things. TCU is not better than Texas...book it. Texas' close calls came to good teams or rivalry games. Other than that, they tore all of their opponents a new asshole. TCU almost lost to Air Force...Texas would have destroyed Air Force. But they're different teams. TCU would give Texas a battle, but Texas would win...just my opinion. A&M is completely underrated. Before the game against Texas, they had the top rated QB in the Big 12...and that's saying something. Guy had more TDs than McCoy when it started. This was a rivalry game, the 10th anniversary of the bonfire tragedy, and A&M's Super Bowl. Guarantee you that this game meant more to them than their bowl game will. That makes for a much tougher game. And Nebraska's defense is a different animal than Alabama's. Yes, overall, Bama is better, but Bama has NOBODY like Ndamukong Suh. His ability to cover 2-3 of the Texas O-Line gave Nebraska the ability to rush only 4 the whole game and get penetration, allowing Saban to run 7 DBs for half the game. Bama has nobody like that, so they will have to rush some linebackers, which gives Colt the ability to run more screens and dink and dunks, like he's so good at. Texas will get a LOT more offense against Bama than they did against Nebraska, because Suh isn't that...which is precisely why Suh should be the Heisman winner...unfortunately, he won't.

Don't get me wrong, I love Colt and what he's done for our program. BUT, he's had some real problems this year against top defenses (reference ou, nebraska). I think he has a tendency to zero in on Shipley too much at times and then freaks a little bit when he has to go to other receivers.

Hopefully, with the month off before the game he can get some work done in spreading the ball around to what's a very good WR group at UT. We also have to commit to and establish some kind of running game against bama. If we become one dimensional against those guys it could be a very long day.

The fact of the matter is this. Which teams will show up for the actual game? Will the UT team that steamrolled people or the UT team that played TT show?

Will the Bama team that destroyed Florida or the Bammer team that barely beat Tennessee show?

Comparing what teams have done against other competition up to this point is almost moot. Both are undefeated through top-notch conferences. Both are very deep. Bammer is maybe a little more talented, but Texas is a bit faster, IMO.

On paper, I think Bama is a bit better, and has played a tougher schedule. But nobody really knows which team will deal better with the time off, and I think whoever does that will win. t.u. hasn't faced a RB like Ingram...you could play this game all day. i think bama wins, but who knows. its one of the more unpredictable title games i've seen in some time.

Auburn has shown that you can stop Ingram, but at what cost? Losses. You have to do two things against Bama, stop the run and pressure their QB. Mcleroy has shown that he can dink and dunk you to death if the running game is slowed down. But what if a team can get pressure as well? Muschamp knows the Bama offense, and has beaten it before. He's going to have to force Bama to go vertical, which I still don't think they can do with any consistency. UT has very good corners that should be able to handle being put on an island. Then mix up run & pass blitzes.

Stop the run, pressure/hurry/sack Mcleroy. UT offense needs to score as well. There's the formula, IMO

texas has a good defense, but IMO they havent faced the level of competition to what bama has. bama dominated defensively against some strong offensive teams in ark, florida, ole miss, etc. they struggled a bit with auburn, but that is a big rivalry and they were looking ahead to Florida (who wouldnt)

and the ingram talk is good and all, but in my opinion he is the second most talented back we have. he is not much better than richardson (except for holding onto the ball). even if texas can shiut down ingram, then you are going to have to deal with richardson (who reminds me of bo jackson). richardson is the strongest guy on the entire team and can bench press a school bus if he wanted to.

mark my words that richardson will be a better player come sundays than ingram will. he just has more athletic talent period and runs harder and is faster.
