Am i crazy to be glad that Texas won and now Alabama does not have to play TCU instead. I truly think TCU is a better team than Texas and I think Alabama is going to beat Texas worse than it did Florida. RTR!!!!

I'm excited to see the longhorns' o-line react to the behemoths of bama. Even though I am biased, I really like the set-up, compared to fl.
God knows I'm a homer for UT football, but I try to be an objective homer. My gut feeling at this time is that bama wins this game by about 8-10 points. But who knows? Maybe our O line gets tired of the criticism and comes out with a purpose against bama, maybe we can produce some big plays in the return game, get some to's that lead to quick points.
I think we're going to need some of the above to happen in order to stay in this game and have a chance of winning.
upset that Auburn is going into the toilet and you will be getting our recruiting scrubs/leftovers for the next decade or so? if i were you i would be saying off too.

the way i see it is this. Texas has trouble putting away A & M. they then get lucky to beat Nebraska. nebraska is a decent team with a good defense. nebraska has no offense whatsoever. Nebraska's defense is good, but no where near the level of Alabama's. Nebraska's offense compared to alabama is an effin joke.
if nebraska's defense can limit Texas, then alabama's is bound to give them much more trouble.
you seem to be one of the texas fans looking at this game realistically. i agree with what your saying. special teams and big plays are a must against a defense like bama has. without that happening, it probably wont be close.
all that being said, your quarterback is a complete bad ass and could get in the zone (but i doubt it against that nickel package saban uses)

I am sure you were like every other auburn fan in that you honestly beleived auburn would beat alabama this year and that Florida was going to destroy us. Nope. the days of auburn even being mentioned in the same class or sentence as Alabama are over.
Auburn fans are so out of touch with reality it isnt even funny. I was forwarded an email from an auburn fan prior to the Iron bowl that was essentially a couting report comparing our starter's to auburn's starters. the auburn fan had the boogs with the advantage in every position except for one. the guys even had the audacity to say that ingram is overrated and that Tate is a better back and that auburn's running backs as a whole are much better than Alabama's. that was the funniest i have ever read in my life.
why you trying to make this personal? your hostility shows how auburn fans are not in reality. we are top in recruiting classes since the arrival of Saban while Auburn is slowly slipping.

Here's my thing...Texas is going to have against Bama...it may be a win, could be a loss..who knows. I will say a couple of things. TCU is not better than Texas...book it. Texas' close calls came to good teams or rivalry games. Other than that, they tore all of their opponents a new asshole. TCU almost lost to Air Force...Texas would have destroyed Air Force. But they're different teams. TCU would give Texas a battle, but Texas would win...just my opinion. A&M is completely underrated. Before the game against Texas, they had the top rated QB in the Big 12...and that's saying something. Guy had more TDs than McCoy when it started. This was a rivalry game, the 10th anniversary of the bonfire tragedy, and A&M's Super Bowl. Guarantee you that this game meant more to them than their bowl game will. That makes for a much tougher game. And Nebraska's defense is a different animal than Alabama's. Yes, overall, Bama is better, but Bama has NOBODY like Ndamukong Suh. His ability to cover 2-3 of the Texas O-Line gave Nebraska the ability to rush only 4 the whole game and get penetration, allowing Saban to run 7 DBs for half the game. Bama has nobody like that, so they will have to rush some linebackers, which gives Colt the ability to run more screens and dink and dunks, like he's so good at. Texas will get a LOT more offense against Bama than they did against Nebraska, because Suh isn't that...which is precisely why Suh should be the Heisman winner...unfortunately, he won't.
I don't know what "couting" reports are, but I fully expected Bama to beat Auburn this year. Alabama has a better team. More talent, more depth. So judging me based off of some moronic e-mails is ridiculous.
Ingram is not overrated, but I will certainly stand by the fact that Tate is a better back than Ingram overall. Watch and see what happens in the NFL.
Ingram against a shabby Auburn front 7 --- 16 carries, 30 yards for a whopping 1.9 average.
Tate has comparable numbers overall even though Bama has a better O-line and didn't throw the ball nearly as much. To call the comparison laughable, is, well, laughable itself.
Tate 1254 yds 8 TDs 5.2 avg ------- Ingram 1542 yds 15 TDs 6.2 avg
Considering AU was playing from behind at some point in 5 games you get a lot of situations where Ben wasn't used at all. Tate was also never the real focal point of the diverse offense.
Ingram was in a lot of games where Bammer was ahead and needed to grind. Ingram also WAS the focal point for large swaths of the season when Mcleroy wasn't very good, and was mostly the focal point even when your QB was good.
Otherwise Bama was better at every position, except DE where Antonio Coleman is definitely better than anything Bama has. Overall depth and talent are certainly in Bammers favor. Quite frankly, UA shoulda beat Auburn a lot worse.
With the way Chizik is recruiting, you can go ahead and think Auburn is "going in the toilet". A 2 game improvement over last year and a New Years bowl game are hardly what I'd call regressing. Like I said, enjoy your bandwagon ride, but AU will be back to whooping that ass before you know it. WDE
Auburn was phenomenal against Bama...bad clock management at the end, but phenomenal nonetheless.
Don't get me wrong, I love Colt and what he's done for our program. BUT, he's had some real problems this year against top defenses (reference ou, nebraska). I think he has a tendency to zero in on Shipley too much at times and then freaks a little bit when he has to go to other receivers.
Hopefully, with the month off before the game he can get some work done in spreading the ball around to what's a very good WR group at UT. We also have to commit to and establish some kind of running game against bama. If we become one dimensional against those guys it could be a very long day.

it is a known fact that it was easier to get into auburn than alabama back when i was in school. my older brother couldnt get admitted to alabama (but auburn let him in). same for one of my dumb ass friends from high school. alabama rejected him and auburn accepted him. etc., etc. i could go on for days
