This coach has lost his fucking mind and it continues to plague the team. No rim protection whatsoever...why bring in all the length and athleticism on the front line to not play it? Blair is helping out on penetration, is taken out of rebounding position and midgets like Bogans and Mason are left to attempt to block out Wallace, one of the best rebounders in the league. It's just not going to happen. Unfortunately, the team is paying for their coaches idiocy and he's getting what he deserves. You play stupid fucking lineups that have no chance to be competitive, you deserve to lose.

Time to concede. Pull Duncan, Parker, Ginobili etc. Get Hill a quick blow, move Mason to the point, then get Hill back out there to finish with some combination of Mason, Bogans, Haislip, Mahinmi and Ratliff. Then, tomorrow maybe this retard coach can actually coach to win from the beginning by playing actual NBA size and by using Jefferson for presumably what he was brought in for: to log extended minutes and be a bigger factor on offense during challenging stretches like the one the Spurs are currently going through.

why exactly is Ratliff on this team?..
Because apparently he needs a month to recover from the 3:56 he played against the Lakers. After all, he needs to rest up so he can be prepared to log 40 mpg in the playoffs...I don't get it, either. I get not playing him every game, I get not wanting to wear him out, but really, he's NEVER GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY EXTENDED MINUTES FOR THIS TEAM, SO THERE'S NO NEED TO BE SO OVERTLY CAUTIOUS. The team could have used him many a night this season (particularly during this stretch where Bonner is out and they're playing 3 bigs) and instead he's wasting away on the bench.
Meanwhile, Hill continues to log an insane amount of minutes in recent games. It's as if Pop is determined to wear out one of the few sets of energetic, fresh legs the Spurs have left during this daunting stretch.

I guess all the smalls have to be saved for tomorrow's game, so they can get absolutely pounded inside and on the glass by Randolph and Gasol.
It looks like the Spurs are well on their way to undoing their recent back-to-back wins. If Parker looked gassed after a day off, how will he look tomorrow? Duncan may or may not play and if he does, he probably won't play a lot and Ginobili is mired in another stretch where he can't throw the ball in the ocean.
Tomorrow I want to see two things:
1) Play traditional lineups
2) Play Jefferson extended minutes and put the ball in his hands early and often and when he get's it, I want to see him attacking and either finishing at the rim or getting to the line
In short, I want to see logic used by Pop. My guess is neither of these things occur and the sluggish looking Spurs lose again, only this time it'll be more of a track meet type of game.

why are some people acting like the bobcats suck? They are pretty damn good home team and a great defensive team. So the spurs losing shouldnt be a surprise. the spurs effort is ass though.
Bobcats certainly do not suck. I knew if the hung around they would get the crowd wild and into the game.

Haislip was bad, and hasn't shown much during pre-season or reg garbage, but come on . . .
Throw him in ice cold in the 4th down double digits? When he's barely played and doesn't know the system (unlike Mahinmi)? People are dissing his offense tonight, but on defense he was just as bad, he didn't know what the hell was going on and his head was spinning.
That's on Pop for injecting him in the 4th while still contesting the game and just putting him there to fail. Why not the first? After all, it was Pop who said at Toronto that "Not too much happens in the first quarter of NBA games.”
Now I'm not a Haislip supporter. I've been big on Mahinmi on this board and of course would have rather seen Ian all game over MH over and over again. But Haislip succeeding in that spot was a longshot.

The coach continues to kill this team.
If in fact Duncan were going to sit out one of these next two games, why not have it be tonight? Then he get's a three day break and can carry the team tomorrow against a team with a much better big combination than the Bobcats. The Spurs will likely need someone to carry them because the rest of this team looked gassed...and that was with them coming off a day off.
Jefferson continues to be underutilized. Not only is he inexplicably not leading the team in minutes played during this stretch, but he's rarely getting the ball and when he does, for some odd reason he's not driving.
And then you got the small ball obsession. Tomorrow, Duncan and Parker (and maybe even Ginobili) should sit out. They both looked sluggish tonight and even if they both play, tomorrow will likely be a difficult game for the Spurs to win.

Either play him his usual twenty or don't play him at all. Great, if he's out, then Duncan will likely have to play. Pop may need to do what he did against the Nuggets last year: sit the big three. nothing is wrong with them, the problem tonight was lineup choices, such as playing the whole third quarter with a tiny lineup (during which time bobcats 'coincidently' pounded the paint and boards and built a 15 point lead). if we had played a true big or 2 the whole third it would have been a much closer game.
play the right matchups and we have no problem with this team.
