Too many reasons the Spurs are not good enough. The two reasons that is the most painful to watch is the lack of effort and focus.

Look at those Utah cocksuckers thinking that Parker fouled him.
LOL clean blocks are fouls on the Spurs and hacking is a non call for Utah.
What a joke.
I knew the game was bullshit when I saw Duncan get called for the offensive on a light elbow while Kirilenko gets FTs doing the same shit.

-Tim/Tony not showing up.
-RJ showing up only in the 1st quarter.
-Ginobili showing up in the 1st half, some of the 2nd.
-Reffing would've been okay had they been consistent.

Weak to bring out the refs now... It's simply not what lost this game. Boozer said it best in the postgame interview: We played solid defense and that kept us in the game. How could you have a 25-0 run and lose a game? You get lazy. You stop playing D.
I wrote about it in the preview thread. And please, no excuses with TP being hurt. DWill have had his wrist hurt for weeks now. They all simply played harder than we did and beat us fair and square. There's gotta be a lot of soulsearching on the Spurs right now. You can't pretend you can simply turn it on in April. Not gonna happen.

i agree rj's attitude is infecting this team, trade him for a couple of back ups preferably a 7 footer whose only job is to board and foul, can't be any worse now

I blame Jefferson for infecting this team with his soft, apathetic attitude. Spurs would have been better off not trading for this cancer..
Honestly I was shocked by what a lazy fuck he was when came in near the start of the first quarter. There's a reason AK went off tonight and it's because RJ was such a pussy guarding him that yes, even AK-47 was able to get his confidence going.

TP is -26 tonight boys :(
This stat is almost always irrelevent... (the start of the game was weird and Pop put him early on the bench, he is not to blame alone for the bad start!)
The blame can't be put on one sepcific player tonight, it was really a collective loss, lack of focus and defensive intensity!
And they still can't play with the same required level of intensity for 48 min !!!!!!!
That's what scares me the most!!!
Is it a physical/health problem? a "focus" problem? a chemistry one?....

Boozer, Jazz get 4th win over Spurs this season (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2010012024&prov=ap)
By Paul J. Weber
Sure, the Utah Jazz would rather sweep the San Antonio Spurs in the playoffs. But they’ll take this one.
Lopsided as this series has often been? You bet.
Carlos Boozer scored 31 points and 13 rebounds, and Andrei Kirilenko added 26 points as the Jazz beat the Spurs for a fourth and final time this regular season, 105-98 on Wednesday night.
“We’re proud of ourselves,” Boozer said. “They’re a championship team. We’ve never done that in the history, since I’ve been here. It’s been a long time since we swept them. Hopefully we can build on this.”
Few coaches have been around longer than Jerry Sloan and Gregg Popovich. But even Popovich wasn’t yet the head coach in San Antonio the last time Utah was this dominant against the Spurs.
The Jazz swept the season series for the first time since 1993-94, when Utah beat San Antonio five times during the regular season. The Jazz also went on to eliminate the Spurs 3-1 in the playoffs that same year.
More recently, the Jazz had been downright stumped against the Spurs. They entered the season having not won in San Antonio in a decade, but can now claim two wins at the AT&T Center in the same season.
Last decade, there was a period when Sloan endured the futility of Utah losing 18 straight to San Antonio. That said, Sloan quickly put these four wins in a somewhat muted perspective.
“When you look at the whole picture you see that you beat San Antonio four times this year, and you’re in ninth place,” Sloan said. “There’s not a whole lot of consolation when you look at the whole picture.”
Manu Ginobili scored 22 points for the Spurs, who had a 25-0 run but couldn’t prevail in a game of wild swings. The Jazz split a two-game road swing after losing to Denver on Sunday. Utah has won five of six.
The Jazz also deprived Tim Duncan from joining the 20,000-point club, holding the perennial All-Star to 14 points—leaving him at 19,999.
Duncan shot 5 of 15 and made just one shot in the fourth quarter. Boozer drew a sixth foul on Duncan with 30.1 seconds left and the Spurs trailing 99-96, and Boozer sank both free throws to seal the victory.
“It’s tough just seeing the team lose for the fourth time against the Jazz,” Ginobili said. “That’s hard to swallow.”
Three points was the closest San Antonio got after trailing by as many as 12 in the quarter. Tony Parker scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth, but Boozer had eight down the stretch to keep the Spurs at bay.
“We beat them a lot over the years,” Parker said. “I think, you know, this year they had our number.”
Boozer picked up his 25th double-double of the season. Deron Williams also had a double-double, getting 18 points and 10 assists. Williams also didn’t turn the ball over.
George Hill had 16 points and Richard Jefferson had 12 for the Spurs.
San Antonio had crawled back into the game after a horrid start, missing its first eight shots. A 25-0 run over 5 minutes in the first half brought the Spurs back and then some, but the Jazz held off a final Spurs push.
The loss was a dulling start to a six-game homestand for the Spurs. The home games are the last for San Antonio before embarking on their annual “Rodeo Road Trip,” which will keep the Spurs away for virtually all of February while cowboys and cattle take over the AT&T Center for a month.
NOTES: Duncan will go for 20,000 points on Friday against Houston. Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki and Boston’s Ray Allen have already hit the milestone this season.

There are more problems on this team than meets the eye. I honestly think the core of Spurs who were here last season see RJ as a lazy, grab the money type of guy and he has become a cancer on this squad. There is resentment over the salary he makes that is second only to Tim and more than guys who have put in lots of blood, sweat and tears like Manu, Tony, Finley, Mason, and Bonner as well as Tim. These guys see RJ, Dice and Bogens who play over half of the time with their heads firmly planted up their ass as losers even though they would not admit it publicly. I feel bad for Tim & Holt. Both deserve a hell of a lot better than these 3 guys have given us. They have had more than ample time to show us at least a smidgen of trying to fit in. Pop and RC need to admit that they made a big mistake and try to rectify it any way they can. This team is not going to get better and will most likely get worse as so many teams are clicking now. Work some kind of trade magic before the deadline (yeah, good f'ing luck) to get us a big (long, tall and athletic) and another multi use player who can fill in at 2-3 positions. Frankly, do anything it takes to get a guy like Bosh. RJ, Dice and Bogans have been on talented teams with nada to show for it. They are not going to help turn this team into a championship team no matter how much some wish they would. It ain't gonna happen.......PERIOD!!!
Been a long night at the AT&T. Real sorry to see Tim foul out and not get his 20,000 points tonight. Pop, you owe it to Tim to get this sinking ship righted and soon or we won't even be in the playoffs. And even if we were to somehow make it we'd have to play Utah and beat them in the playoffs or a championship would definitely be tainted because no way could we claim to be the best. So get on the phone Pop & RC and salvage this season! :ihit

In regards to RJ, the Spurs didn't sign him to that contract. They're paying him now, but there is no way in hell the Spurs would offer RJ more than Manu or Tony. The Spurs needed to improve and hardly gave up much for RJ.
Having said that, RJ and Dice need to go asap

i dont think bogans is a problem. he's only getting paid less than a million and he has done better than what people's expectations of him were. he actually does have good stretch of games too where he gives alot of effort. i think people are just expecting him to be exactly like bowen which is why some people are disappointed with him.
RJ and Dice on the other hand need to get their heads out of their asses. RJ looks so unmotivated out there. I think he'll just be happy to make the playoffs at this point. I think he lost that killer mentality after missing the playoffs the last two years. Everyone is counting on him to lead us to title 5. Holt, RC, Pop, Tim. Everyone and so far he's been shitting bricks.
Dice looks like he has an overrated reputation about being a winner. Ive heard Pistons fans chant him for really wanting to win but all ive seen is laziness and lack of focus. How many passes has he fucked up from Kurt Thomas because he was just as hungry as Dice is and he did all he could but was traded away. If Dice doesnt step the fuck up now, he could be gone like KT is. And right now, i dont give a fuck about McDyess.

Dice was fool's gold. I thought he'd be great with the Spurs too so I can't fault the FO for bringing him in.
RJ was a bad idea though. He's a loser from top to bottom. I think it's hilarious that many of the posters here were championing this trade because of his nice-guy/vanilla attitude(to fit in with the team). And it's too bad the FO and fans dismissed truly talented players like SJax due to emotional baggage(hypocritical since RJ canceled his wedding prior to coming to SA).

Uhhhh, Amuseddaysleeper, wake up...lol
Where did I say the Spurs signed him to that contract? The Spurs had to take on the contract the bum RJ had already signed with either the Nets or Bucks (not sure when/where it originated from). Not sure you actually read my whole post. Bottom line is it is NOT helping team chemistry when the guys who've been through the fire and gave their blood, sweat and tears for their ring cannot be happy when someone comes in expecting to hopefully get a ring but, is not willing to lay it all on the line. And especially so when the lazy guy makes more than everyone else except Tim.
When RJ gives an interview he sounds like it is no big deal the way the Spurs are playing. He has No sense of urgency in him....No burning desire...No fire in the belly....No desire to win at all cost...No lay it all on the line type mentality. To win a Championship it takes that attitude from everyone on the team from the owner, coaches, players and everyone else in the organization. If RJ and Dice were working for me and this was all I was getting out of them, they'd both be looking for a new job.
Anyway, hope this clears it up a bit. :toast

I really don't have much of a problem with Bogans, especially since he is not making much by NBA standards. Some nights he shows signs of a Bruce Bowen and on other nights he seems to be on a different planet...or at least in another arena. I'd still rather have Bruce at this point if it were an either/or proposition.
But, I've just about had it with RJ and Dice. I think many of us got our hopes up too high. Then again it may be because of the cost of our season tickets. Ouch! lol

At least Peter Holt doesn't have to fork over $14+ million dollars for Dice. I'm sure Pop has felt bad about what has happened. Since there is no way we can dump RJ's salary without throwing in a Tony or Manu, let's hope Pop and the coaching staff can figure something out and right the ship.
