One unreal turnaround 3, drawing a charge on the other end, taking the kid to school in a play after, forcing another turn over right after

That's why they're a distant memory, he does it when it matters most

no, he does it occasionally against poor teams

DPG21920
01-25-2010, 10:29 PM
Rose and Miller raining 3's. That is what happens when teams have no fear of you. It is called Bonner syndrome. Even though Bonner plays decent defense, guys just do not believe in their minds that they will miss with him on them. So they fire away and hit, sometimes even tough shots.

Pop should have retired after the '07 'ship. He's tarnishing his reputation with the retarded way he's coached this team the past two years.

I would absolutely love to see which other coach could have gotten a lineup of a hobbled Tim, Bonner, Finley, Mason, TP to 50 wins last year.

That was a foul on Rose though.. not enough to make Manu miss that layup IMO but still a foul.

Over the last 20 years that I've been a fan of this team, there have definitely been down times and frustrations, but I honestly cannot recall ever being as frustrated as this year. I actually get no pleasure out of watching this team; to think I was looking forward to this season so much. The small ball, the lack of defense--so maddening. It's like nobody learns anything from the rapidly-mounting losses. I'll always be a Spurs fan, but unless something miraculous happens this is going to go down as one of my least favorite teams.

Entertaining game - just the wrong outcome. Oh well - another disappointing loss. This is getting to be the rule, rather than the exception. I miss the old days when the Spurs defense would just smother the other team and they'd win these kinds of games.

Alas - those days are over... I miss Bruce!

I miss old Pop even more.

Well, at least I made 225$ LOL..these losses don't really bother me anymore, I've lowered my expectations by a lot..

I have absolutely no idea how odds makers had the Bulls at +350, that's absolutely ridiculous..any consistent gambler that isn't betting against the Spurs @ home right now isn't doing it right..

This team isn't good, they shouldn't be favored to beat any decent team by more than 1 or 2 points..

Pop can't run a game winning play ever.

We should have went for a 3.

Definitely agree.

Manu decided to drive way too early on that play, and while it was clearly a foul, was also very contested.

WTH is wrong with league pass broadband?! EVERY FREAKING TIME the game is close, it lags out at the end and I miss everything. The OKC game and about 7-10 other games, it screws me over. It never did this to me last year, and I'm using the same hardware and ISP. I could have strangled an NBA techie to death if they'd been in the same room with me.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I think Pop has lost his love of coaching, and the only reason he's still here is because Timmy is. He just doesn't seem as passionate this year and he's not doing a very good job.

I wonder if the players themselves understand just how pathetic they look.

Its over halfway thru the season, and they are still being outplayed by "inferior" teams. Perhaps the Spurs are only superior on paper; they sure look like an inferior team right now.

I don't agree - these Bulls just beat the Suns and the Rockets. And Utah is always a tough game. But it still sucks!

The Spurs players over-achieved last year(Parker, Mason, Bonner all had career years). We have a much more talented team this year but Pop and his dumbass small-ball keeps killing any chance for us to be competitive.

Overachieving can be bad if it means you don't get the pick your team actually needs when they perform to their abilities.

But thats all moot anyway, since this team has no collective ability. I'm actually disappointed in this team. Very disappointed.

I am just sad. Even though it is just a game, but I have so much emotion invested in this team. To see them tanked like this is just sad. The real issue is, no matter how upset that fans get, I doubt Pop and the players really care. I get the feeling that we will continue to see small ball.

Hot-shooting Bulls stop Spurs, win 3rd straight (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2010012524&prov=ap)
By Paul J. Weber

When the last chance for the San Antonio Spurs came up short, Joakim Noah grabbed the rebound and punctuated a third straight win with a triumphant roar.

Meet the new Chicago Bulls: unlikely road warriors.

Derrick Rose overcame feeling ill to score 27 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, and the Bulls impressively beat another winning Western Conference team during their seven-game road swing with a 98-93 victory over the Spurs on Monday night.

Last week it was at Phoenix, then in Houston. Put it another way: the Bulls, now 7-15 on the road, have won just one fewer road game in the last four days that they did in their first three months of the season.

“We’re not as healthy as we’d like to be, but we’re finding a way,” Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro said.

Chicago now finishes up its Western Conference road trip against Oklahoma City on Wednesday and New Orleans on Friday. Both teams also have winning records, but the surging Bulls aren’t playing afraid of anyone lately.

Chicago has won 11 of 16 after starting the season 10-17. With a win against the Thunder, the Bulls (21-22) can climb back to .500.

The Spurs, meanwhile, are spiraling.

San Antonio lost its third straight at home, already squandering half of its six-game homestand before hitting the road for virtually the entire month of February. The Spurs have traditionally used their annual “Rodeo Road Trip” to work out the kinks—and at this rate, there is plenty to fix.

Tony Parker scored 20 points for the Spurs, who have lost five of six.

“We have a team that can win games, especially like the one tonight, but we just need to find way to get it done,” Spurs forward Tim Duncan said. “Defensively we aren’t as good as we want to be.”

Chicago entered the game as the fourth-worst shooting team in the NBA. The Bulls began their road trip by losing at Golden State and the Los Angeles Clippers, but just like Chicago did wins over the Suns and Rockets, it shot better than 50 percent from the field.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has admonished his defense of late, and this won’t help. The Bulls hit 18 of their first 23 shots and stayed above 70 percent shooting for most of the first half.

Kirk Hinrich added 18 points for the Bulls, and Noah had 11 after missing Saturday’s win over the Rockets with plantar fascitis.

“Hopefully it means we’re growing a little bit,” Del Negro said. “I’m pleased with our defense; we got some stops and put ‘em down.”

Duncan scored 15 points and Antonio McDyess had 14 for the Spurs. Manu Ginobili also scored 14 but was denied twice while barreling to the rim in the final 33 seconds.

Luol Deng made sure of that on Ginobili’s first try.

Deng swatted his layup back the way Ginobili came with Spurs trailing 95-93 and 32.8 seconds left. Then down by three with 5.9 seconds left, the Spurs called Ginobili’s number again but his layup fell short.

“Manu’s last two plays,” Spurs guard Roger Mason Jr. said, “we’ll take any day of the week from him.”

Rose didn’t practice with the Bulls earlier Monday because of flulike symptoms that Del Negro described as everything from congestion to “not feeling good.” But Rose played just fine hours later—even if he didn’t look like it.

Rose shot 13 of 23 from the floor and hit a pull-up jumper with 56.9 seconds left to put the Bulls ahead 93-91. But Rose clearly wasn’t feeling well.

Del Negro said at one point, Rose asked him to “give me a couple more minutes.” Rose wasn’t pale, Del Negro said, but he had his hands on his knees.

Rose left without speaking to reporters.

In his absence, Noah stated the obvious.

“I’m not gonna lie: D-Rose is playing at a really high level,” he said.

NOTES: Newly acquired Bulls G Devin Brown was expected to join the team in Oklahoma City on Tuesday. The Bulls obtained Brown in a trade with New Orleans before the game, giving up C Aaron Gray. …The Spurs are on their third three-game slide of the season.

Welcome to the reality other teams fans tasted for years (Even worse for them since they haven't won one lately or never) :depressed:depressed:bang. I guess this is reality? Well I hate it, I want a competitor every year now forever, it's not fair that we have to deal with a falloff :(
