I don't think bad group stage teams is a topic midgetfan wants to discuss :lol Midget's numbers go down hill in the CL knockout stage. Your boy is the king of stat padding in the group stage against awful teams.
Champions League goals:
Total - Group Stage - Knockout Stage
Ronaldo - 114 - 60 - 54
Messi - 97 - 60 - 37
Also, you're using NBA talking points in football :lol No one gives a fuck about FG% in football, especially when the silverware keeps coming in.
They don't call him Tapnaldo for nothing. :lol It helps when Tappy is surrounded by good players that can make him look better than he actually is. For instance and while we're on the subject of stat padders, Look at what Shaq did for Kobe's legacy.
Or El Clasico. The all-time leader in goals and assists is good there too. Or finals. The all-time scoring leader in finals is good at that too, tbh.
Except when he's in a white and blue jersey, apparently.

Aguero's been hit or miss, mostly used as a decoy in the later stages vs Nigeria. Dybala has only seen a snipet of action and he was pretty unremarkable. But I only bring it up because you were telling me a month ago about all this talent Messi's been surrounded by and yet he doesn't have a national team trophy to his name. He isn't surrounded by talent, he's surrounded by players with name recognition that in their respective leagues can beat up on lesser talent but put them on the national stage against similar/better talent and all of a sudden they look very mediocre and in some cases overmatched.
Sampaoli is a dreadful head coach who has no idea how to utilize what little talent he has. The only thing he's done right to this point was pull Callabero from net so he couldn't further embarrass himself if that's even humanly possible. Not even good enough to be a starter in the EPL and he came in as Argentina's #1. :lol

Sampaoli is truly a nightmare of a head coach. The decision to start Pavon over Aguero was catastrophic, leaving Messi out there to basically fend for himself. And how could anyone take that tragic Argentina's defense seriously? 3 goals should be good enough to win most, if not all cup games but not when you select a first team full of Amateurish, slow footed, gimmicky defenders that would rather foul than defend.

I think he will stay with the NT but the priority has to be grooming the young guys (Dybala, Icardi, Lo Celso, Lanzini, L.Martínez, Ascasibar, Mammana, Kranevitter, etc.). Meanwhile he's going to rest and be back to daddy RMAO as usual.

Out of topic, credit to messi but he looks in a much better shape physically than he was as 19-22 year old. His youth gave him speed back then, but he was noticeably fatter in his early year.

Barça came flat at the Anfield, well it was never easy to play there. Liverpool has 5 champions too.
Suárez is immensely talented. Dembele and Coutinho are a bit disappointing but otherwise top players. Rakitic and Vidal are extremely good midfielders too. On defense, they have Semedo, Piqué, Busquets, great team really at all positions.

Messi still gets no blame? :lmao His mentality is so weak as you saw after every goal they conceded. Compare that to Ronaldo, who is encouraging his teammates and just making stuff happen afterwards. Nothing you can take away from him.
Ronaldo sulks and pouts constantly, Ramos was always the leader of those Madrid squad as good as Ronaldo was.
Where was Ronaldo's encouragement when they got knocked out by Ajax? He was pouting and flailing around when his team was getting their asses kicked
Messi was comfortably the best player for Barca yesterday literally EVERY CHANCE they had was thanks to him. I think the players do deserve some of the blame for yesterday's fiasco. Messi is their best player and the ship goes down with him. But he's far from the biggest point of blame for the debacle. Valverde and the whole backline was laughable. I mean that fourth goal FFS :lmao

Honestly, at least your lead was only one away goal and you had no Ramos.
The sad thing is, I always knew the first leg against Pool flattered us thanks to Messi.
I honestly wasn't convinced Barca would've beaten Ajax considering how strong their midfield is and how pathetically slow we are transitioning from defense to attack.
Blew a golden chance with PSG getting knocked out early, no Juventus, down year for Madrid, Liverpool injuries for second leg etc..
But maybe this had to happen (same with you guys getting Zidane back) so they can clean house this summer window.

Yep..weakest CL since maybe 2005?
Madrid/City/Bayern/Juve/PSG all will be better and hungrier next year..There is no way this Barca side is sniffing the trophy in 2020 without a major shakeup (coach/players)

De Ligt and De Jong are coming, but a new manager and Suarez replacement is a must. Perhaps even another midfielder with pace.
And Coutinho, wtf :lmao

2016
Barcelona - Atlético Madrid 2:1
Atleti - Barça 2:0, Messi does nothing
2017
Juventus - Barça 3:0
Barça - Juve 0:0
Messi does nothing in both games
2018
Barça - Roma 4:1
Roma - Barça 3:0, Roma avances on away goals, Messi does nothing
2019
Barça - Liverpool 3:0
Liverpool - Barça 4:0, Messi does nothing
Messi dribbles better than Cristiano, yes, but Cris would absolutely make goals in several of those second leg games.
"Messi does nothing"
Just cheked the highlights, Messi handed out not less that 4 or 5 assists that should have ended in a goal on that second leg.

Spot on. Created ALL EIGHT chances the team had.
Even in the Brazil match he was comfortably their best player. Not saying either of those games were a masterclass but he was still good. His worst games this year aren't nearly as bad as Ronaldo's worst games this season.

I think that should have Messi make 5 goals and 3 assists, which he absolutely could do, no one would question why Argentina is only 3rd. Instead of that, Messi settled for phantasmagoric grass complaints and corruption allegations.
I mean, if you see how Juve went out of the Champions, Cris made a hat trick to a tough defensive team like the Atlético, then scored in both legs against Ajax. Who can blame him for the elimination?

Moronic post, all eight chances were created by Messi. Literally any semblance of scoring Barca had were because of hi . He was far from a ghost. Barca scored enough to win the tie, conceding 4 goals is inexcusable.
