I guess Cuban believes it would hamper the "in-game" experience for the fans. Makes no sense to me, It sounds a bit like someone banging an Oriental drum and is much worse in person.

I didn't even notice teams had started mic'ing their rims until I went to a game in Houston this season. I was sitting way up in the nosebleeds, and one of Hill's shots made a swish so loud it literally made me jump. I thought it was cool, until I remembered two seconds later that, of course, every single shot can't be a swish--all that clanking off the rims gets very annoying after a while.
