Why do you guys even sell your games in the first place? Fuck not having a collection. I keep every game I buy no matter what. I don't need the pennies in trade-in credit and life would suck if everything I bought, I ended up putting on Craigslist two weeks later. Is the cash really worth the extreme hassle and loss of your would-be property? Isn't the hour you spent selling a game on Craigslist worth more than the fifty bucks you used to buy the next game you're going to sell?

I don't see whats the point of keeping a game if you know you're never going to play it again. 50 bucks on a game you paid 60 for is pretty good.

There are many games that you own that just collect dust.
I am not rich yet, so until then, I only keep the games I will be playing.
The rest, I sell, and buy another game. Doing it this way, I buy every single game I want, brand new retail, on the cheap. I don't have to pirate anything, and I play every game I want.
Combine that with great deals we can find, like $20 Amazon Gift Card I got for buying RDR, and I actually MADE money for playing this game.
I spent $66 total for RDR including release day shipping.
Sold it for $50
Received $20 amazon gift card for pre-ordering
I got $70 and I only spent $66.
I made $4 and I got to enjoy unwrapping a brand new game on release day, playing it for 2 weeks, finding out I don't want to keep it, and moving on.
Doing it this way, I play anything I want on a small bugdet :)
I used to be like you bali, I used to collect EVERYTHING.
I still had my SNES and like 20 SNES games, Sega Genesis with games, PS2 with games, etc...
then about a year ago, I realized that it's dumb to let it sit there and have me waste money.
I sold it all for a few hundred bucks, and I bought all sorts of new shit for myself.

For real. I haven't played poker much, I've been in very few duels, I haven't helped all that many strangers, I still have a ton of the challenges to finish, I've only unlocked a scant few outfits, I haven't collected any bounties, I just got to Mexico and I have about 12 hours of gameplay. I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of all the extra shit and I'm only halfway through the main story.

I'm with you. I don't sell or return anything. It isn't worth my time to worry about getting back a few bucks. Especially for a video game I may play again sometime down the road. If it gets to the point that I'm hoarding, I'll donate some stuff, or give it away to friends/family. And while we're on the subject, I don't buy used shit either (unless we're talking about a vehicle, house, or something like that). I can't bring myself to buy a used game from gamestop when a new copy is only five dollars more.

The console runs the game off your hard drive instead of the game disc
which means the disc is not constantly spinning and it doesn't need to be read, which means less wear and tear on the disc.

Feels like Im getting stucked on the sharp shooter and master hunter challenges because I can't find any boars or bears. I guess when I go up north I will finally see them. Also I need to kill some beavers for a stranger challenge. Haven't found any of those either.

If you're looking for boars, go up north past the McFarlane's Ranch in the foothills East of the snowy area and you'll find plenty boars. However, the caveat is that it is also Mountain Lion territory, so you need to be cognizant of that.
I think Bears and Beavers will be more prevalent in the Twin Trees area in the Northeast. I am still in Mexico because I've been really busy doing the side quests.
I still can't pull up the Mo van Barr bounty and I think I'm going to have to wait until a patch comes out in order to do so--it seems at least...

Seriously. I was on my way to visit West Dickens and I came across one of those side quests where a guy was being chased by two cougars only to also have a pack of wolves and coyotes chasing him. I managed to kill the cougars because they don't focus on you when they're chasing another victim and wiped out the wolves...the freakin last remaining coyote killed the poor guy, though...

I've spent almost every spare minute I have playing this game, it's a great game. I don't even know how many hours I've poured into it, and I still haven't finished it.
I played MP a few times, but I got tired of getting owned by high ranked players with high powered guns constantly going after me and killing me. I like that I can jump Free Roam maps.
My brother and I go into the maps and we just throw knives at each other. It's pretty awesome. Up near Tall Trees where the waterfall is at, we got on opposite sides of the waterfall and threw knives at each other for an hour. lol

Thanks for the tips. Im still in Mexico but should be pretty close now. I'm doing my first mission with Abraham "Reyes" now. Don't know how much longer its going to take. Plus i've been trying to buy the damn rebel cloth from the store but its never available. I hate getting killed by criminal who are stopped on the side of the road with a stage coach and then some girl comes after you and begs for some money or some shit and before you know it your dead. Damn. I have a day and a half total time played and I'm just into Mexico. I spend too much time hunting and playing poker. But I do have a lot of wins from poker and I've made about 6 grand hunting. As far as the ambushes, I usually ride past the coach, go into Dead Eye and pick the robbers off before they even have a chance to shoot. Then I always go back and shoot the bitch execution style for trying to set up the ambush.

I finally bought it this past week. It's the most involved I've been in with a game since FF7. I kind of screwed up my ability to play the last quarter of the game because I went looking on the net for information on the "I know You" stranger. Someone complained about not being able to participate in it and mentioned a certain character name and I was like "wtf does that have to do with anything?" but as I played the last part of the game there was a feeling of dread, then relief, then dread, then relief...etc until all hell broke loose. But hey, that should have been expected right? Rockstar's endings epic!
Damn fine game, I really think it's made GTA obsolete unless the next one is San Andreas on steroids. I love the wild west, even more now than when I watched the Dollars Trilogy earlier this year.
Too tired from just beating the game, don't think I'll do multiplayer for awhile cuz I'm burnt out :p: I'll come back here and post my PS3 info when I'm ready to jump back in the saddle.

Amazing game. I sunk about twenty hours into red dead before I realized it ended, which was surprising to me because I've never seen a rockstar game to completion. I don't know why I liked it so much better than GTA...because it had cowboys? If there was one thing that bothered me, it was that John was a little too easily manipulated by the various characters in the game. It's a means of progressing the story, but it seemed completely out of character for him to be taken advantage of so often.

Minor Spoiler Alert (a month after release):
I finished the campaign on Sunday with a playtime of like 35 hours and a completion percentage of 98%. I'm damn happy I decided to do almost all the extra shit before wrapping up the Blackwater missions. I'd have been pissed if the majority of my time with this game was spent with Jake Marston, (as opposed to John). I stayed away form spoilers, didn't know how the ending was going to shake out. Anyways, fortuitous for me.
Now I gotta spend a ton of time figuring out what the hell I have to do for the final 2%.

I really think your going to be disappointed about your prediction. In 2 months you might find this game for your price when its used. I dont see it dropping below $40 for at least 3 months or so.
This game is what GTA4 should have been.
if it wont get cheap here it will get cheap in europe. i bought lbp for 15 bucks 2 weeks after release, and infamous for 25 3 weeks after its release, region free is awesome.
here is my guess after e3 but before july 4th i will get this game for 20-30 dollars
In your face, under 30 bucks, i was off by 5 days

as much as I hate to say it, a zombie game mode would be godly
There are four new expansions coming from Rockstar Games for the hit Western Red Dead Redemption. One of them will bring zombies.
Plus... new animals? Red Dead Revolver characters? Anti-griefing somethings-or-other?
Rockstar outlined the four new paid expansions to Red Dead Redemption today, promising the next one for August and the following downloadable packs in the coming months. The DLC, which will be offered for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, expands the single player and multiplayer aspects of the game.
(The following summaries are quoted from a press release)
1) Legends and Killers Pack (Early August 2010, $10)
-New active map locations, characters and more
- 9 new multiplayer map locations — more than doubling the amount of territories in the multiplayer competitive modes;
- 8 new multiplayer characters — play as characters from Red Dead Revolver
- Introducing a new projectile weapon: the Tomahawk, with corresponding challenges for single-player and multiplayer gameplay
- New achievements and trophies;
2) Liars and Cheats Pack (TBD release date; $10)
- New competitive modes, multiplayer mini-games in Free Roam, and more
- Attack and Defend multiplayer competitive mode and challenges;
- New multiplayer horse races, complete with mounted combat;
- Play as the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption, as well as 8 additional multiplayer characters;
- Multiplayer versions of Liars Dice and Poker from the single-player game
- Introducing a new weapon: the Explosive Rifle, with associated challenges available in single-player and multiplayer gameplay;
- New achievements and trophies;
3) Free Roam Pack (TBD release date; $10)
-Delve deeper into the world of Red Dead Redemption with
new modes, challenges and gang hideouts to discover
-New action areas and defensive placements
-Posse scoring and leaderboards;
-New anti-griefing measures in Free Roam (Note from Stephen: Any theories on this, readers?)
4) Undead Nightmare Pack (TBD release date; $10)
- Ghost towns and cemeteries come alive in a West gone horribly wrong:
- Brand new single-player adventure, challenges and quests;
- 8 new multiplayer zombie characters;
- Additional animals unleashed in the world;
- New dynamic events and more
Rockstar has not released any screenshots of the new modes, so you'll have to guess what their Red Dead zombies look like. Interesting DLC strategy for this game. Rockstar's last big games, Grand Theft Auto IV, received two massive single-player-centric add-ons released more than a year after the game and offering over a dozen hours of gameplay and story for $20. With Red Dead, Rockstar is creating smaller portions of content and releasing them much closer to release, emphasizing an expansion of multiplayer more than single-player. Both plans were ambitious, showing that Rockstar is serious about post-release support. (But not so serious, folks — zombies!)

Bout halfway through it now, in the Mexico missions. Having fun so far, though it does have the very GTA-ish "goofy character" syndrome. :lol

This game is awesome. I love playing poker but I suck at dueling and horseshoes.

Glad to hear about this. The multiplayer is seriously lacking right now. Its boring when you have to keep playing the same hideouts and coop missions over and over again just to rank up fast enough. I would like to rank up without even knowing I'm ranking up because I'm enjoying the game modes.
But BOO to the new achievements and trophies. I hate that fucking shit. I spend all my time to try and get 100% only to get added a few more time consuming achievements.
